NJPW is the biggest wrestling promotion in Japan and it has produced some of the greatest Wrestlers of all time and some of them have come into WWE and are now thriving. There are more than a dozen wrestlers who can be in this list and to choose a Top 5 will be difficult.

1) Hiroshi Tanahashi


There is absolutely no doubt that Hiroshi Tanahashi is the greatest NJPW Wrestler of all time. Hiroshi Tanahashi is an 8 time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and that is the most that anyone has ever won in the company. Hiroshi Tanahashi has been the leader of NJPW and has been Wrestling since the last 25+ years. He has also main evented Wrestle Kingdom multiple times and against the likes of Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada.


2) Kazuchika Okada


Closely at number 2 is the imperious Kazuchika Okada. He has been the biggest face of NJPW ever since he has been with the company. Kazuchika Okada is one of those wrestlers that have have the greatest Wrestling matches of all time. He is a 7 time IWGP World Champion and he has been champion for more than 1800 days combined. Dave Meltzer has given the most number of 5 star matches to him. His matches against Kenny Omega is the greatest wrestling trilogy of all time as all the matches are 6 stars or above. Okada should pursue new career opportunities and see would be a great place for him under Triple H.


3) Antonio Inoki


The founder of NJPW has to be in this list because he also was one of the greatest Wrestlers of all time. He was the man and the face of the company for the first 15 years and he was World Champion 4 times in his career. His total combined days as champion were 2551 days and it was him who in 1981 changed the face and retired after giving NJPW the platform. 


4) Jushin Thunder Liger


The greatest Junior Heavyweight in the history of NJPW. Jushin Thunder Liger was an 11 time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and he was the face of lucha libre in the company. He has been the junior heavyweight champion for 2245 days which is also the most in history. He was the person who got famous with the USA fans as well when he appeared in NXT and he was inducted in the WWE hall of fame as well.


5) Tetsuya Naito


At number 5 is Tetsuya Naito, who has been the champion 3 times for the company and he has a total reign of 1170 days and he was the champion in the pandemic. He has had incredible matches against the likes of Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Okada, Chris Jericho and so many other greats. Tetsuya Naito deserves to be champion in front of the fans and he will be in NJPW for years and maybe he will finish as tr greatest of all time.
