AEW Dynamite before WrestleMania 42 weekend was one of the most newsworthy shows of all time. AEW did something that they have never done in a World Championship Match. There was a title match between MJF vs Darby Allin for the main event of the show. The fans were expecting 30 minutes of great Professional wrestling and what they got shocked everyone.

Darby Allin Squashed MJF and the Hopes for AEW
The main event for the last AEW show before WrestleMania 42 was the match between the then champion MJF vs Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship. MJF recently had a Banger of a match against Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty which was 30 minutes of greatness. The expectations from the fans was of an equally great match because Darby Allin could go in the Ring against the best of them. However what transpired was something that was shocking. Darby Allin absolutely squashed MJF. MJF had been feeling the effects of the war against Kenny Omega and he even threatened lawsuits against the referees. The match started and MJF tried to hit Darby Allin with a Ring. Darby Allin ducked and he hit a Code Red followed by a Suicide dive.
Darby Allin hit a Shotgun Dropkick to the champion and he was in no mood to let go. MJF was beaten for the count but Darby Allin hit his finisher Coffin Drop and pinned MJF to win the AEW World Championship. This was something that Tony Khan wanted to happen ever since 2020. MJF will obviously get a rematch at the next PPV but this was shocking at less than 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Darby Allin won the title in his hometown of Everest, Washington. This is something that will give fresh direction to AEW but the fans are not happy with the way it was booked. MJF has been squashed twice in the last 3 months and this time for the title. MJF has become a joke and Tony Khan has done what he has accused WWE for which is sensationalism just to get news before WrestleMania 42. If it was not the WrestleMania 42 weekend for WWE Darby Allin would not have squashed MJF.
It has happened and nothing can be done about it now. These two will have a rematch where they will wrestle for 30 minutes for the title at the PPV. MJF will run with the angle that he was not ready for Darby Allin and it was a fluke. Darby Allin has not been getting the pops that he used to get earlier in his career so the fear is that it might be a little late to pull the trigger on the AEW World Championship. Darby Allin will have to win the fans once again and show that he is the perfect wrestler to be the AEW World Champion. The one thing that can be guaranteed with Darby Allin is that he will give it his all in every match and not care for his personal well being. Darby Allin is a babyface so he will get to face heel opponents in AEW which is a change from when MJF was champion.
