The group stage of the 20-team T20 World Cup 2026 is almost over, but one thing is confirmed. Eight teams have qualified among the 20 to take part in the Super Eights, which is all set to begin on Saturday, 21st February 2026. 


Let’s talk about the teams that have qualified. In the Group state, there were 20 teams divided into 4 groups of 5 teams each. From each group, two teams qualified for the Super Eight stage. The teams that have qualified for that stage are as follows:


  • India

  • West Indies

  • England

  • South Africa

  • New Zealand

  • Zimbabwe

  • Sri Lanka

  • Pakistan


T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 Format

The format is that they have been divided into two groups, Group 1 and Group 2. The seedings were pre-decided, and the groups are as follows:-


Group 1 - India, South Africa, the West Indies, and Zimbabwe


Group 2 - England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Pakistan


The format now states that the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The teams will play against each other from their group once before the top two are eventually decided. 


The Super Eights are all set to begin on 21st February with the clash between Pakistan and New Zealand in Colombo.
