The Men’s Singles side of the tournament was an open book this time instead of the women. Generally it is Novak Djokovic who wins the Grand Slams for the men and all others play catch up. This was not the case this time around as other players also get better. Players such as Jannik Sinner who won the Men’s Singles Title and this was his first Grand Slam. He was simply brilliant and in the final he was playing against Daniil Medvedev. This match was a thrilling 5 setter and Jannik Sinner won by 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 and 6-3. He was 2 sets down and from there he came back to win it all. Daniil Medvedev was also one of the breakout players of the Australian Open.

Women’s Singles

The Women’s Singles this time was a one woman show as it was Aryna Sabalenka all the way. She was the player who was looking unbeatable and the other players had to step up to match her level. She beat all her opponents in 2 sets. In the final of the Women’s Singles it was Aryna Sabalenka vs Qinwen Zheng and the fans were hoping for a close contest but Aryna Sabalenka won the match easily. She beat her opponent by 6-3 and 6-2. She has won the last 2 Australian Open Titles and she will look to win the other Slams as well.

The Men’s Doubles has been talked about but Rohan Bopanna has made such history that it warrants to be talked about again. Rohan Bopanna and Matt Ebden beat their Italian opponents by 7-6 and 7-5 in 2 thrilling sets and Rohan Bopanna became the oldest man to win a Grand Slam in the open era. Rohan Bopanna and Matt Ebden would be looking to win the other 3  Grand Slams this year.

Women’s Doubles

It was the pair of Hsieh Su – Wei and Elise Mertens who won the Women’s Doubles Title at the Australian Open. They beat Jelena Ostapenko and Lyudnyla Kichenok by 6-1 and 7-5 to win the title. They are the number 2 seed in the world and this pair would look to repeat the success in the other tournaments as well and stamp their authority.

Mixed Doubles

It was double delight for Hsieh Su – Wei as she won her second Australian Open title for 2024 as she also won the Mixed Doubles Title. She teamed up with Jan Zielinski and they won an incredible 3 set match to win the title. They beat their opponents Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk by 6-7, 6-4 and 11-9 in the tie break.
