French Open 2026 Results

The second Grand Slam of 2026 has concluded and this was a Grand Slam that set the stage for the future of tennis in both the Men’s and Women’s Singles. The players that were expected to win perished and a number of young stars and players who toiled hard for years got their due.

French Open 2026 Results

Men’s Singles

The Men’s Singles tournament of the French Open was one for the history books. The players that were the favourites before the start of the tournament didn’t win. Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic were eliminated quite early in the tournament. Neither of them made it into the second week. A new star emerged and it was Flavio Cobolli of Italy. The final of the French Open was between Flavio Cobolli vs Alexander Zverev. The World number 2 vs the number 10. This was the best match of the tournament as it was a 5 setter. Both the players won alternative sets and in the 5th, it was the experience of Zverev that triumphed. He won the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-4,7-6 and 6-1.

Women’s Singles

The Women’s Singles tournament was also one where there were new superstars created. The pre tournament favourites like Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff were all knocked out. Neither of these women made the semi final. The biggest star and the person whose life changed forever was the wild card was Maja Chwalinska. She had to play the qualifiers before the tournament and then to get into the final. She was below the top 100. The other star was the 19 year old Mirra Andreeva. She was the number 8 player in the world. Mirra Andreeva won the French Open and she beat Maja Chwalinska by 6-3,6-2.

Men’s Doubles

The Men’s Doubles was a more traditional tournament this year. There were no upsets or surprises in store. The final was played between the number 1 and the number 2 seeds. The world number 1 team of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos won their match 6-4,6-2. The doubles players should get more recognition than what they are getting currently.

Women’s Doubles

Similarly to the Men’s Doubles, the Women’s Singles tournament was also very traditional. The final was between the number 1 and number 2 seeds. The women played very well throughout the tournament. The world number 1 team of Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend beat their opponents Aleksandra Krunic and Anna Danilina 6-2,7-5.

Mixed Doubles

The Mixed Doubles tournament is the least televised and the players are not as legendary as they used to be. The pairing of Leander Paes and Martina Hingis was legendary. The French Open 2026 saw the number 1 seeds Sara Errani and Andrea Vavasaori win the Final by 4-6, 6-3 and 10-4. They beat Evan King and Gabriella Dabrowski.
