Marketa Vondrousova Is the One

As a result of her winning the Wimbledon title, Marketa Vondrousova became the first ever woman to win Wimbledon as an unseeded player and she was number 42 in the world and she beat 5 ranked players who were way higher ranked than her. She easily beat the number 6 seed in the world in the Final by 6-4, 6-4 in under 90 minutes and it was as it Ons Jabeur was the unseeded one and Marketa Vondrousova was the more experienced one and she has been playing for 10 years. To perform like that in your first Wimbledon Final and to win on a surface where her record was 4-11 before coming to this tournament and after this tournament was over she is now 11-11 on Grass and now she will forever be known as a Grand Slam Champion and according to her this was the toughest Grand Slam for her to win . In the semi final Marketa Vondrousova beat the very good Elina Svitolina in straight sets as well by 6-3 and 6-3.

Marketa Vondrousova is the latest in a list of Wimbledon Female champions from Czech Republic and she joins the ranks of Petra Kvitoca who is a 2 time Wimbledon Champion. In the quarter final Marketa Vondrousova had a very hard Fought match where she took on the world number 4 and it was a 3 set thriller. She beat Jessica Pegula by 6-4, 2-6 and 4-6 and this was the toughest test for her this Wimbledon Championships. Now the way forward for her will be full of spotlight because now everyone will have more expectations of her and she will have to win more events to be seen as a top level player and in the upcoming US Open she will have to prove yet again that she can win at any surface.
