The 2023 US Open is in the books and there were some winners who have won before and some first time winners as well. The US Open Is one of the most important tennis tournaments of the year and this is the one where all the celebrities come to watch as well. It happens at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. The winners get equal prize money which is $3 million and for 50 years Equal pay has been given to the winners.


Let’s look at the winners of the US Open 2023


Men’s Singles

The Men’s Singles event was the most anticipated event as it happened on the last day. There were 3 players who were the best in this event and there were Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. In the semi final it was Daniil Medvedev vs Carlos Alcaraz and this was the most important match of the tournament and Daniil Medvedev won the match in 4 sets. In the final it was Novak Djokovic vs Daniil Medvedev and it was a close match and Novak Djokovic won the match by 6-3, 7-6 and 6-3 and he went on to win the 24th Grand Slam with no end in sight.


Women’s Singles

The Women’s Singles event was the most open tournament because anyone could have beaten anymore as it was proved throughout the event. Iga Swiatek was the world number 1 at the start of the tournament but she was eliminated in the event. Aryna Sabalenka was the best player in the tournament and she won her semi final after a dramatic first set and then she won 2 tie breajsby 7-6 and 7-6 to reach the final. Coco Gauff was the star of the event as not many people gave her a chance. She beat Karolina Muchova in the semi final by 6-4 and 7-5. And in the final she beat Aryna Sabalenka by 2-6, 6-3 and 6-2.


Men’s Doubles

The Men’s Doubles event was the one where the Indian fans were most interested because Rohan Bopanna was in the running to win a Grand Slam at age 43. He was partners for Matthew Ebden and they reached the final and they took on Rajeev Ram and Joe Sallzbury who were looking to win it for the 3rd consecutive year. And it was a tough match but Rohan Bopanna came just short as he lost by 6-2, 3-6 and 4-6.


Women’s Doubles

The Women’s Doubles event was again where it was hotly contested because all the players were incredible. This tournament saw a pair of local Americans who were looking to win. Sophia Chsng and Alycia Parks. They won the final and the trophy by beating Alexa Guarachi and Monica Nicolescu by 6-3 and 6-4. This was a great moment for the crowd in New York who came to support them.


Mixed Doubles

The Mixed Doubles are an event that deserves to be watched by a lot more people because these players also work hard to win Grand Slams. In this event there was an America pair of Austin Krajcek and Jessica Pegula, they were looking for the title but in the final they were beaten by Anna Dannalina and Harri Heliovaara by 3-6 and 4-6.
