US Open 2025 Top Contenders

The last Grand Slam of 2025 The US Open will start and there are some of the best players who will try to win another Grand Slam title. The US Open has increased the prize money for the Winners of the singles events to $5 million dollars and the total prize money for the US Open will be $90 million which will make it the most expensive tennis tournament in history. There are Players in both Men’s and Women’s Singles that can win the trophy which will make the tournament competitive.

Let’s the best in Contenders to win at US Open 2025

Women’s Singles

Aryna Sabalenka

She is the best hard court tennis player in the world for women. She won the US Open last year and she will look to become the first woman to win back to back US Open titles in a decade. Aryna Sabalenka has the power game that gives her an advantage against her opponents. She knows how to play best in hard courts. She will have competition from the likes of Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Emma Raducanu etc. Aryna Sabalenka was disappointed at not winning Wimbledon 2025.

Coco Gauff

The local favourite Coco Gauff will be another one of the strongest contenders to win the Grand Slam. She won the French Open this year and had a bad Wimbledon tournament. Coco Gauff has improved a lot and she is among the Top 3 players in the world. Coco has had weeks to prepare for this tournament and she will look to win in front of her Home fans who will come out to support her. Aryna Sabalenka will be her biggest competition and Coco will have to step up her power game to stand a chance.

Iga Swiatek

The third player in this list was a tough choice between Iga Swiatek and Emma Raducanu. It has been visible for the first time since 2021 when she won the US Open in one of the biggest shocks of all time that Emma Raducanu has been playing at her best. However, Iga Swiatek is the best all-court player in the world. She recently won her first Wimbledon title which will give her confidence heading into the US Open. Iga Swiatek will be a difficult challenge for both Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff.

Men’s Singles

Carlos Alcaraz

The top spot in this list was the hardest because there are 2 players that are clearly the best in the world. Carlos Alcaraz edges out Jannik Sinner because Carlos has the endurance limit that he can come back from almost impossible situations. The French Open Final from 2025 will always give Carlos the edge even though Jannik Sinner won the Wimbledon a few weeks later. Carlos Alcaraz will be hungry because he was beaten easily by Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon. He will look to play at his A game.

Jannik Sinner

There is very little to choose between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Jannik Sinner won the Wimbledon title in convincing fashion and that will give him a lot of confidence. He has had a terrible time in life and in tennis. Recently he retired from a match against Carlos in Cincinnati because of an illness. Hopefully that illness will have recovered and Jannik Sinner can play at his best. He and Carlos Alcaraz have immense respect for each other and are friends outside of the court. The battle will also be against Ben Shelton who will be the local favourite and Novak Djokovic who cannot be counted out in any situation.

Ben Shelton

It was a difficult call between Ben Shelton and Novak Djokovic for this spot. Novak Djokovic is in the tail end of his career and he is playing incredibly well and maybe better than anyone ever has at 38. Ben Shelton is a hungry young man who wants to prove to everyone that he belongs in the conversation of the best tennis players in the world. Ben Shelton will have the support he needs from the fans and this will be the best chance he has to win a Grand Slam title. Novak Djokovic will be right behind them looking to win his 25th Grand Slam. The US Open 2025 will be a special tournament with many contenders In both Men’s and Women’s Singles.
