The 2023 edition of Wimbledon is in the books and what an incredible tournament it was seeing the best of all tennis come to the center stage and make a name for themselves in front of the whole world. And there were standouts In this journey who will be talked about below. The quality of tennis was simple incredible and all the players deserves a break after a marathon 2 weeks and the next Grand Slam is a couple of months away so they will get a proper rest.

There were new champions crowned this year and the greatest champions showed that they are not going anywhere. 

So, let’s look at the Results


Men’s Singles

This was an event where there were only 2 contenders from the start and those were Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. All the other players are great as well like Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holgar Rune and so many others but these 2 were the best by a big margin. And the final was yesterday between the 2 best players and it was truly one of the best finals in years. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz played for 5 hours and the biggest Celebrities from around the world were watching live from all walks of life. And Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in a 5 set thriller by 1-6,6-7,6-1,3-6 and 6-4. He will be a big star in the future and he is just 20 years old.


Women’s Singles

This was easily the most open tournament because anyone could beat anyone and that is what makes this event special and unlike the men there are multiple women who could have won this Grand Slam but in the long list of names the name of Marketa Vondrousova did not appear and she stunned everyone these past 2 weeks as she beat 5 players who were way above ranked than her and in the final she beat Ons Jabeur in straight sets to win the Wimbledon title. The likes of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elina Svitolina, Ons Jabeur, Elina Rybakina will bounce back.


Men’s Doubles

It was in this category that the Indian Tennis fans were hopeful that a Grand Slam would come as Rohan Bopanna was playing in one of his last Grand Slams and he had a great chance of winning with his partner Matthew Ebden but they lost in the semi final. The team of Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski who were the number 1 seed in this event won the Grand Slam by winning 6-4 and 6-4 in the final by beating Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers.


Women’s Doubles

The Women’s Doubles event just like the women’s singles was a very unpredictable one as any team could best anyone and this was an event that a lot of people did not follow because the attention is mostly on the singles but the team of Elise Mertens and Storm Sanders were dominant throughout the tournament and they were the number 3 seed meaning the number 1 and 2 seeds were beaten. However this team lost in the final to the best women’s team who are unseeded and they are the team of Barbara Strycova and Hsieh Su- Wei who won the final by 7-5 and 6-4.


Mixed Doubles

This was the last big event that happened at Wimbledon this year and this event was also where a lot of tennis fans were not watching and the team of Mate Pavic and Lyudmyla Kichenol were the best team in the event and they were the number 7 seed meaning a lot of big upsets happened throughout the 2 weeks. And in the final they beat Xu Yifan and Joran Vllegen by 6-4,6-7 and 6-3 In a 3 set thriller.
