The grass court Grand Slam Wimbledon has seen yet another edition being played. This year the action was amazing and new young players made their Mark. Old legends won their first Slam in grass and two familiar rivals did battle in the ultimate clash. There were heartbreaking injuries and the greatest of all time faltered.

Jannik Sinner Wins First Wimbledon Title After Beating Alcaraz in Final
The Men’s Singles was a roller coaster of a ride. It had triumph, heartbreak, injuries and luck. There were 3 players who were the favourites coming into this tournament. They were number 1 Jannik Sinner, number 2 Carlos Alcaraz and the greatest of all time Novak Djokovic. However there is a fourth man that played unbelievable tennis but he was unlucky that he got injured at the wrong time. Grigor Dimitrov was 2 sets to 0 ahead against Jannik Sinner in the fourth round but Grigor was forced to retire due to injury. After this match Jannik Sinner did not look back as he beat number 10 seed Blake Shelton by 7-6, 6-4 and 6-4. Carlos Alcaraz beat Cameron Norrie by 6-2, 6-3 and 6-3. In the semi final Jannik beat Novak Djokovic by 6-3, 6-3 and 6-4. Carlos Alcaraz beat number 5 Taylor Fritz by 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 and 7-6. It was number 1 against number 2 in the final. Jannik Sinner won his first Wimbledon title by beating defending champion Carlos Alcaraz by 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4. He will be looking to win the US Open in a few weeks.
Iga Swiatek Crushes Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 to Win Wimbledon 2025
The women’s singles was an open draw that saw a lot of upsets early. Coco Gauff was eliminated early in the tournament. Aryna Sabalenka was playing very good tennis. Emma Raducanu saw a resurgence in this tournament. Amanda Anisimova was the player that made her way through the final when very few people expected it. She beat the world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka In the semi final by 6-4, 4-6 and 6-4. However, the player that made a grand comeback to tennis and showed why she is the best of the modern generation is Iga Swiatek. She absolutely dominated throughout the tournament. She beat everyone within 2 sets. She beat Belinda Bencic by 6-2 and 6-0 in the semi final. However it was her performance in the final that left everyone stunned. She beat Amanda Anisimova by 6-0 and 6-0 in 2 sets which lasted less than an hour. This was the first time this score line was seen in a Wimbledon final since 1911. It has been 114 years. Amanda Anisimova will come back stronger from this and Iga Swiatek will look to win Grand Slam number 7 at the US Open.
Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool Triumph in Men’s Doubles Final
The doubles events this year were like every other year. The players play with all their heart and soul but they get little to no recognition. The winners of the Men’s Doubles tournament were Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool of the UK. They won the final by beating Rinki Hijikata and David Pel by 6-2 and 7-6. The second set was a close one. They were the number 5 seeds in the tournament. The champions beat the number 4 seeds in the semi final by 6-3, 6-4.
Kudermetova and Mertens Win Hard-Fought Women’s Doubles Title
The women’s doubles tournament saw the best women’s players fighting it out to become champion. This tournament saw the number 4 seeds meet the number 8 seeds in the final. It was a closely contested match that went to the wire. The team of Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens beat their opponents Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su – Wei by 3-6, 6-2 and 6-4.
Siniakova and Verbeek Clinch Mixed Doubles Crown in Thrilling Final
The Mixed Doubles are the event that finished first in the tournament. The final was played on 10th July. The teams that played the final were not ranked. This shows that the tournament was very closely contested and any team could bear anybody. The final was incredible as the two sets that were played went to tie breaks. The team of Sam Verbeek and Katerina Siniakova won the match 7-6 and 7-6 as they beat Luisa Stefani and Joe Salisbury.
