England announces Test team meanwhile Matthew Potts will make his Test debut from the upcoming series

New Zealand and England will start the equation of the Test series from June 2 at Lord’s. After Joe Root, who recently left the captaincy, England will start the series under the captaincy of a new face Ben Stokes. Under Root’s captaincy, England have had a rough year in the recent past, ranging from the Ashes defeat to the Test defeat at the hands of the West Indies. However, the upcoming series will see veteran England bowlers Anderson and Broad make a comeback.

New Zealand Cricket, on the other hand, saw fast bowler Trent Boult’s chances of playing the first Test match very less. By the way, New Zealand had selected its 15 players team on Monday.

Root will have a chance to register many records in his name

Root, a former England captain, will have his eye on many records in the upcoming series. The record for the most runs for England is held by Alastair Cook, who scored 12472 runs in 161 Test matches. Cook also has 33 centuries and 57 half-centuries to his name. Root has scored 9889 runs in 117 Test matches and is England’s second highest run-scorer.
