During the India tour of West Indies 2023, the visitors India set many records in their 1-0 series win in the two-match Test series. One of those was the Indian opening partner’s setting up most partnership runs in an away Test series.
In the two-match Test series, the Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Rohit Sharma dominated the Caribbean bowlers. Jaiswal made his Test debut on this tour, where he recorded a century on Test debut.
After putting a 229-run opening partnership in the Test series opener at Roseau, where India won by an innings and 141 runs, Rohit-Yashasvi set up the 139 runs and 98 runs partnerships in the last Test at Port of Spain. Unfortunately, the Port of Spain Test had a draw result due to many rain interruptions.
In the two-match away Test series, Rohit-Yashasvi aggregated 466 runs in three innings.
