Wiaan Mulder: Sepcial Record With 367 Not Out vs Zimbabwe in 2025 Bulawayo Test

It is the second or last Test of the series, as the visitors South Africa are leading this Test series 1-0. In the second Test, the hosts Zimbabwe chose to field first, while South Africa scored 626/5 before declaring their first innings on the second day.

Wiaan Mulder, who is leading the Proteas in this Test match due to the absence of regular leaders, was the only centurion in the innings as he scored 367 not out in 334 balls with the help of 49 fours and four sixes. 

While Mulder had the chance to break the highest Test innings score record: 400 not out by West Indies legend Brian Lara, the stand-in Proteas skipper decided to declare the innings at the start of the second session on the second day of the Test match.

Mulder completed his double-century in 214 balls.

• Mulder recorded the second-fastest Test double-century by a South African batter. The record is a 211-ball Test double-century by Herschelle Gibbs against Pakistan in the 2003 Cape Town Test.

• Mulder recorded the 11th fastest Test double-century. 

Mulder completed his triple century in 297 balls. 

• Mulder recorded the second-fastest triple century in Test cricket history. The record is a 278-ball triple century by the Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag against South Africa during the 2008 Chennai Test. 

• After Hashim Amla, Mulder became the second South African to record a triple century in Test cricket. 

Mulder scored 367 not out.

• It is the highest Test innings score by a South African batter. The previous record was 311 not out by Hashim Amla against England during the 2012 The Oval Test. 

• It was the third-highest score by a Test captain in an innings.
