Just after the 2025 ICC World Test Championship Final, where South Africa lifted the WTC mace, the fourth cycle of the ICC World Test Championship, the 2025-2027 ICC World Test Championship, has started. Here, we are going through the details of the 2025-2027 ICC World Test Championship.
Just like the first three WTC cycles, the 2025-2027 ICC World Test Championship will run with nine teams. In the fourth WTC cycle, each team will compete in six Test series, three at home and three at away.
Although all teams will not play the same number of Test matches, at the end of this WTC cycle, the top two teams with the highest percentage of points won out of points contested will advance to the Final. The winner of the Final will lift the fourth WTC mace, which Lord’s in London will host in June 2027.
