Yashasvi Jaiswal: Third Indian Opener To Score A Century On Test Debut

The 21-year-old talented Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century on his Test debut during the Roseau Test against the hosts West Indies. He became the third Indian opener to score a century on Test debut, and the first Indian opener to record a hundred on Test debut outside home.

It was the second day of the first Test of the two-match Test series between West Indies and India at Roseau (Dominica) when the Test debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal completed a century in 215 balls.

The left-handed opening batter Jaiswal ultimately scored 171 runs off 387 balls with the help of 16 fours and only six. He had a 229-run opening partnership with the captain Rohit Sharma, who also hit a century (103). Their batting helped India to manage their first innings total of 421/5 decl., which was a strong reply to West Indies’ first innings total of 150 all out.
