While the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 ended in a historic way, as the hosts India Women won their first title after beating South Africa Women in the Final by 52 runs at Navi Mumbai on Sunday (November 2) night, the Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma won the Player of the Tournament award, as she recorded 215 runs with the bat and 22 wickets with the ball.


Here are some stats of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Player of the Tournament, Deepti Sharma. 


Deepti Sharma took 22 wickets in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.  

  • Deepti became the joint second most wicket-taker in an edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, as she equalled the record of New Zealand leg-spinner Jackie Lord’s 22 wickets in the 1982 edition. Australian left-arm spinner Lyn Fullston recorded 23 wickets in the 1982 edition. 


In the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, Player of the Tournament Deepti Sharma recorded 215 runs with the bat and 22 wickets with the ball.  

  • Deepti became the first cricketer to record 200+ runs and 15+ wickets in the same edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.


Deepti Sharma took at least one wicket in all nine matches of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.   

  • Apart from the Women’s Cricket World Cup 1982, where the finalists played 13 matches and every team played at least 12 games, Deepti Sharma became the first bowler to record at least one wicket in more than eight matches in an edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup. In the 1982 edition, five bowlers recorded at least one wicket in nine games, India Women’s Sharmila Chakraborty recorded at least one wicket in 10 matches, and England Women’s Avril Starling recorded at least one wicket in 11 games. 


In the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Final, Deepti Sharma recorded 58 runs in 58 balls and also had the bowling figures of 9.3-0-39-5.  

  • Deepti Sharma became the first player in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup history to record all-round achievements of 50+ runs and at least three wickets in the same match.

  • Deepti Sharma became the first Indian and sixth overall cricketer to record 50+ runs and a five-wicket haul in the same Women’s ODI match.
