ICC Women’s championship 2018 three match ODI series between INDW and RSAW where india is leading RSAW by 2-0. And now Indian Women team would now look to do clean sweep in the three-match ODI Championship series when it takes on South Africa in the third One-day
International of the three-match series at Kimberley on 10th Feb,2018. But sadly we’ll not be able to watch our women cricket team winning the third ODI because the match is not broadcasted live on any television channel and also no live stream on any social or digital platform.
Now looking at Ice Cricket 2018, where featuring several international cricketers, mainly from the Indian subcontinent. Ice cricket is being played at St Moritz, a Winter Olympics venue. The two teams which feature in ice cricket 2018 are ‘Team Royals’ and ‘Badrutt’s Palace Diamonds’. Ice Cricket 2018 will be live broadcast on television channel Sony Six HD and Sony ESPN.
Now the question arises why Ice Cricket is live broadcasted but not India women vs South Africa women ODI series? Why isn’t mainstream media covering even a fourth of female-centric sports on their pages?
To uplift women in any country the only solution is to give equal opportunity to both men and the women. But do you really feel in India men and women are given equal opportunities in the field of sports?
The answer is no women have to face many challenges in world of sports. Female athletes are paid half or less than men be it whichever sport, there are gross discrepancies between the incomes of male and female athletes. This is the case even with prize money.
We know biographies of Indian Cricket team runs they have scored and they always remain in limelight. But what about their female counterparts? Forget about knowing their names, do we even know when they play a match? Why don’t they have an IPL to their name?
This is because For too long sports industry has been dominated and reserved for men.
