The 2nd Mega Auction of the WPL and the first for the teams after a 3 year cycle will happen on 27th November 2025. The 5 teams have released a number of players as they were only allowed to retain a maximum number of 5 including one Indian uncapped player. There will be 277 Players who will be up for Auction.

Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians have retained 5 players from their 2025 team. They are the defending champions and they have won 2 out of the 3 WPL Trophies. They need a fast bowling attack but they do not have any right to match Card. Mumbai Indians are highly experienced as they go through the mega auction process in the IPL as well. They will need a good set of all rounders. Mumbai Indians retained Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver Brunt, Hayley Matthews. The players that they could target are -

The WPL Champions from 2024 and the team that ended the drought for the trophy. The RCB team retained Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh so they have an opening batter, an all rounder and a wicket Keeper. Shreyanka Patil has also been retained by RCB. They will need fast bowlers and an opening batter for Smriti Mandhana. RCB have a few right to match cards. Their players whom they could target are –

The most unlucky team in the WPL is Delhi Capitals. They have been the most consistent team across all the 3 seasons.
