Ever since returning to WWE with a new demeanor, he has laid waste to names such as Finn Balor, John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Edge, and even his right-hand man Jey Uso. At Crown Jewel, Roman Reigns added Brock Lesnar to his impressive list of scalps, seeing a new fold in the storyline between the two and Paul Heyman.

The build-up to their mammoth clash was excellent, calling into question the loyalty of the "wise man" stuck in the middle of past and present clients and presenting the very best of Roman's character work. Let's take a journey into the fantasy realm and look at potential challengers standing tall outside the walls of WWE that could put Roman Reigns to the sword.

1. Roman Reigns vs Jacob Fatu

We are currently seeing the effects of good storytelling between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar thanks to their common denominator, Paul Heyman. The heart of their storyline is the question hanging over Heyman's loyalty and who he stands with.

The same can be said and done with a potential feud between Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns. The Bloodline's structural integrity would be tested to breaking point due to the arrival of another cousin. If Roman Reigns is insecure as to whether or not he can trust Paul Heyman right now, imagine the character work we can bear witness to when the Usos' allegiances are tested.

2. Roman Reigns & Jon Moxley vs Guerrillas of Destiny - SHIELD vs Bullet Club

In many ways, Bullet Club and SHIELD are cut from the same cloth. The SHIELD ran through the roster in a very similar way to Bullet Club and took championships by any means necessary just like their New Japan counterpart. Bullet Club and SHIELD also share the fact they both evolved from hatred and ire to admiration and respect.

Bullet Club vs SHIELD is a tale of two factions operating with the same mantra and poise. Jon Moxley and Roman Reigns reuniting against the Guerrillas of Destiny would be the ultimate battle with both parties flying the flag for the stables that propelled them.

3. Roman Reigns vs Tama Tonga

Tama Tonga has everything to gain in a match with Roman Reigns, and you could be mistaken for believing Roman has nothing to gain from their feud. But, given the importance of the Tribal Chief gimmick and the fact that Tama Tonga represents the island of Tonga and Roman Reigns represents Samoa, it gives the match a sporting edge.

Tonga and Samoa have a contentious yet respectful rivalry in sports, with their most high-profile clashes coming in Rugby League. The Head of the Table will need to answer the inter-tribe challenge should they both find themselves on the same 'island'.

4. Roman Reigns vs Adam Scherr (FKA Braun Strowman)

Prior to his heel run there was very little to redeem the character of Roman Reigns. One of the significant problems that arose from his push was that he had no nemesis to foil, and therefore no personal blood feuds to engage in that would get the fans backing.

Despite his SHIELD run coming to an end thanks to Seth Rollins driving a steel chair into his back, WWE never invested the time to have him in a serious feud with the traitor, instead he instantly pursued championships. Braun now operates under the name Adam Scherr, where he made a return to wrestling via Free the Narrative II: The Monster in Us All by defeating EC3. A reunion between Roman and his old foe could reignite their rivalry and push the Tribal Chief to his limits.

5. Roman Reigns vs Minoru Suzuki

It only takes watching Roman Reigns in his previous battles with Brock Lesnar to realize that Roman is not one to shy away from brutal affairs. Roman is a severely underrated brawler and sells fantastically, adding to the fighting feel of his matches.

The slow, methodical, and callous nature of Minoru Suzuki in a wrestling ring is legendary. Every match that Suzuki takes part in has an edge to it that has fans wincing with every strike.

But what makes a Minoru Suzuki match so desirable for Roman Reigns is the sense of unknowing; nobody knows the true brutality of the Tribal Chief outside of WWE and a match fight between the two would have everyone on the edge of their seats.
