SummerSlam 2025 will take place on 2nd and 3rd August 2025. This will be the first ever 2 night SummerSlam Event in its long history. There have been many WWE superstars who have had great matches at this show. After WrestleMania, this is the show where the most efforts are put in. Rey Mysterio has had some of his best matches at SummerSlam. He has wrestled 10 times at this event.

1) Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero at SummerSlam 2005
This is the greatest SummerSlam Match that Rey Mysterio had in his career. This was In 2005 and it was a ladder match between these two best friends. The stipulation was whoever wins will keep the custody of Dominik Mysterio. The Dominik Mysterio we see today was just a little boy back then. This was one of the best ladder matches of the last 20 years. Both men were physical and they hit each other with Frog splashes, 619, Powerbombs etc. Eddie Guerrero was trying to influence Dominik Mysterio to help him. However at the end , he flipped the ladder with Eddie Guerrero in it and Rey Mysterio won the match. This is still a legendary match 20 years later.
2) Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle at SummerSlam 2002
This is perhaps the greatest opening match in the history of SummerSlam. This was the first match that Rey Mysterio had on PPV and he had the best in the world Kurt Angle as his opponent. This was a technical masterpiece as both men used their styles and had a Banger. Rey Mysterio showed that he was the best high flyer and Kurt Angle was the best wrestler. He gave Rey Mysterio multiple Suplexes, Angle Slams. Rey Mysterio was established in one match and his son Dominik Mysterio would face Seth Rollins at SummerSlam and make a name for himself.
3) Rey Mysterio vs Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam 2009
Dolph Ziggler in 2009 was young and he was willing to do anything to show that he was an incredible wrestler. Rey Mysterio was one of the biggest stars in 2009. The roles were reversed from 2002 when Rey Mysterio was the newcomer. Here it was Dolph Ziggler who was the new WWE superstar. This was an excellent match and Rey Mysterio did everything in his power to make sure that Dolph Ziggler looked like a million bucks. There were near falls from the 619, The ZigZag which is the finish for Dolph Ziggler. This match was for the Intercontinental Championship.
4) Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero at SummerSlam 2007
This was the first match that Rey Mysterio had after his devastating knee injury which was career threatening. This match was against Chavo Guerrero. This match was one of the best matches in the career of Chavo Guerrero. Chavo was the heel and he was targeting the knee throughout the match. Rey Mysterio was the perfect babyface and he was roared on by the fans. Rey Mysterio was still able to do his moves from the top rope such as the suicide dive, Splash etc. Rey Mysterio won this match against all the odds and it was a classic.
5) Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio vs The Usos at SummerSlam 2021
This is the only tag team match in this list. This match was great. Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio had been a team for a few months. The Usos were heels and they had become one of the most dominant tag teams in WWE. This was a match which was all about family. Rey Mysterio was guiding his son throughout the match and The Usos were showing why they are the best. This was one of the best matches of that show. Dominik Mysterio impressed again in the ring. This was the time when The Bloodline was taking shape to become the most dominant faction.
