Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Penta on WWE Raw in Mexico City.
WWE was holding WWE Raw from Mexico City on 14th September, and this was the last show on the WWE tour to Mexico. WWE had done SmackDown and AAA, which were great shows and some of the best of the year. However, this Raw was the best Raw of the year, and the match quality was worthy of a PPV. The main event was for the World Heavyweight Championship between Roman Empire and Penta.

Roman Reigns Beats Penta in an All-Time Classic Raw main event  

WWE Raw was being held in Mexico City in front of over 15,000 loud fans in the arena. The main event was for the World Heavyweight Championship between local hero Penta and Roman Reigns. This was the first time in more than 2 years that Roman Reigns was booed out of the building by everyone. They were all cheering for Penta. The main event was a 23-minute match, something which is only reserved for PPV main events.


Roman Reigns was in serious danger of losing the World Heavyweight Championship against the best Lucha wrestler in the world. The crowd was red hot, and there was no outside interference at all from any member of The BloodlineRoman Reigns is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and his second reign as the champion during the Tribal Chief era is proof. He had an absolute Banger against CM Punk at WrestleMania and then followed it up with a classic against Seth. This match vs Penta had everything. Roman was talking on the microphone and taunting the fans and saying that Penta is nothing. Penta hit a Mexican Destroyer, but Roman Reigns countered it with a Spear for a near fall. Roman Reigns hit the Superman Punch, but Penta kicked out. The 15,000 fans were giving everything they had to their hero. Corey Graves on commentary lost his voice. 


This match was nearing the end, and Penta hit a Springboard Mexican Destroyer, but Roman Reigns still kicked out at 2.99. Roman Reigns is the master of the close kickouts. All the fans believed that Penta had won the World Heavyweight Championship. After 23 minutes, Roman Reigns ran across the ring and hit 2 Spears on Penta and pinned him. Both of them got a standing ovation, and Penta was established as a main event player. After the match got over, Roman Reigns cut a heel promo on Mexico, but then LA Knight came out, and he destroyed the champion and challenged him to a World Title match at WWE Money in the Bank, which Roman Reigns accepted. LA Knight will finally get his World Heavyweight Championship Match.
