Sami Zayn is now in the big leagues
The WWE SmackDown episode that took place on 11th September in Mexico was filled with title matches. The two important ones were the WWE Women’s Championship and the WWE Championship. The main event was the WWE Championship Match between CM Punk and Sami Zayn. The 12,000-strong crowd in Mexico was loud for CM Punk as they chanted his name. Sami Zayn also got a big cheer as he had his Ride or Die fans. This was a 15-minute match which was excellent. These are two of the best in the world, and they know how to tell a great story in the ring. The first part of the match was Sami Zayn trying everything to get an upper hand and the resilient champion CM Punk fighting with his wrestling.
It was classic heel vs babyface, and the fans were loving it. Then midway into the match, the shenanigans started. It was Johnny Gargano that came out to interfere, but he ate a GTS from CM Punk. Kevin Owens was not to be left behind as he tried to hit Sami Zayn with the title belt, and all this was happening as the referee was down and out. He hit CM Punk with the belt, and Sami Zayn gave him a low blow. This resulted in CM Punk being on the ropes, and Sami Zayn hit the Helluva Kick and got the three-count. Thus, Sami Zayn won the WWE Championship for the second time in his career.
This was something that nobody predicted to happen because WWE Crown Jewel is around the corner and it will be Champion vs Champion in Saudi Arabia. Sami Zayn winning this match has allowed for a mouthwatering possibility, as he will now face Roman Reigns for the Crown Jewel Championship. The WWE Championship picture has 6 of the top WWE superstars fighting over it, and Sami Zayn will not have it easy going forward. The WWE Championship has become the undisputed number 1 title in WWE. Johnny Gargano wants the next shot at the WWE Championship, as Sami Zayn promised him.
