The New York edition of Saturday Night's Main Event took place on 18th July at the iconic Madison Square Garden. There were 4 matches that were announced for the show. There were big NBA stars present from the New York Knicks. This was a precursor for SummerSlam 2026, taking place on 1st and 2nd August.

Fatal Influence beat Brie Bella and Paige for Women’s Tag Team Championship
The first match on the main show was for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. The champions Brie Bella and Paige took early control of the match. Fatal Influence executed a flawless blind tag by Fallon Henley, and then Lainey Reid gave a German suplex to Paige from the top rope. The veteran Paige threw Lainey Reid to the turnbuckle and almost rolled up to get the pin, but Lainey Reid kicked out. Jacy Jayne distracted the referee, and Fallon Henley pinned Paige, and there are new Women’s Tag Team Champions. This was an 8-minute match.
Danhousen beat JD McDonagh in No DQ match
JD McDonagh took early control of the match as he was hitting Danhousen with steel chairs, and Dominik Mysterio was helping his Judgement Day teammate. Danhousen had a trump card as he brought out New York Knicks superstar Karl-Anthony Towns. The 14,000 crowd erupted in cheers. Towens is so tall, and he delivered big chokeslams to both JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio. Danhousen took advantage and hit a reverse DDT to win the match. This was a very entertaining 8 minutes.
Lyra Valkyria beat Bayley
This was the grudge match on the show. Lyra Valkyria has gone completely crazy. Lyra Valkyria was hitting Bayley with her stiff strikes, and she was going on hitting her former tag team partner. During the 11-minute match, Lyra Valkyria suffered a broken nose, but that didn’t deter Lyra Valkyria. This angered Lyra, who unleashed her ruthless side as she hit multiple suplexes on Bayley. To win the match, Lyra Valkyria applied a submission hold, which forced Bayley to pass out. This was a very good showing by the heel, Lyra Valkyria.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes beat Sami Zayn and Gunther
The stakes for this tag team match were raised as Adam Pierce announced that if Sami Zayn and Gunther win this match, then they both will be added to the SummerSlam main event match. Gunther and Sami Zayn were a clinical tag team at the start as they isolated Cody Rhodes and targeted his ribs. Gunther hit the powerbomb and almost got the 3 count, but Cody Rhodes kicked out. Nick Aldis came down to this ring, and he hit Gunther with the WWE Championship, and this allowed CM Punk to hit the GTS to win this match. It will be 1 on 1 at SummerSlam. This was a very good 15-minute match.
