Tony D Angelo won the NXT Championship at NXT Stand and Deliver 2026. He has finally won the top prize after 5 years of being in NXT and watching all of his contemporaries winning the NXT Championship before him and then successfully going to the main roster. He will have a list of new challengers going into the year ahead.

Joe Hendry
The former NXT Champion Joe Hendry would want a rematch for the NXT Championship. He was in a Fatal Four Way Match and therefore he was at a disadvantage. Joe Hendry would want one last shot at Tony D Angelo to win back his title. This will be the first opponent that the new NXT Champion will face as the champion. This will be a one on one match between the two men. It could take place the Tuesday leading into WrestleMania 42. Joe Hendry is destined for the main roster after WrestleMania 42 therefore the rematch will take place in the next 2 weeks. Tony D Angelo will not want to lose the title right after he won it.

Jasper Troy
One of the most impressive young men in NXT for the past 6 months has been Jasper Troy. He is one of the most powerful men in the roster. He will Fight for the NXT Championship within the next 6 months. He can continue the rich legacy of African American men to hold the title and join the list of Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes etc. Jasper Troy is the future of WWE and Tony D Angelo might have to think of new moves to counter the strength advantage of Jasper Troy. The Men’s roster of NXT is going through a transition and it is not as established as the women’s division.
Johnny Gargano
It is looking like Johnny Gargano is back in NXT for a title while. His match against Myles Bourne for the NXT North American Championship was a very good one and he would have reignited his passion for professional wrestling once again. He has been a multi time NXT Champion but that was in 2019. It has been 7 years since he has won a World Championship. Tony D Angelo will be tested against the vastly experienced Johnny Gargano for the NXT Championship. The NXT fans absolutely love Johnny wrestling and he would also like to win one more NXT Championship before retiring.
Shawn Spears
Shawn Spears is one of the most experienced wrestlers that are there in NXT. He has been in professional wrestling at the top for a decade. He was known as Tye Dillinger in WWE before. Shawn Spears deserves a match for the NXT Championship based on the work he has done for the past 2 years in NXT. He has also been a mentor to people like Izzy Dame and the other members of The Culling. Shawn Spears will not be in professional wrestling for much longer and he and Tony D Angelo will have a classic between two of the most experienced NXT wrestlers. Shawn Spears will most likely not go to the main roster and finish his WWE career in NXT.
Tavion Heights
Tavion Heights is yet another young NXT superstar that has caught the eye of the wrestling world. He has been in NXT for 2 years and Tavion Heights is one of most decorated amateur wrestlers to have wrestled in NXT. He has won a Bronze medal at the 2021 World Wrestling Championship. He will win the NXT Championship within the next 12 months. WWE sees big things for Tavion Heights and he could be the one to dethrone Tony D Angelo. NXT will have to make all these young NXT wrestlers into superstars. It is scary how good the women’s roster in NXT is and they are well known superstars.
