WrestleMania 42 Saturday took place on 18th April 2026 and it was a mixed bag of a show. Some of the matches were great and some of the matches were too short, especially the women’s matches. The show had 7 Matches at WrestleMania 42 Saturday. There were title changes but the night could have been better. WrestleMania 42 Sunday has 6 Matches and only one women’s match.
Let’s look at the Results for WrestleMania 42 Saturday
The Usos and LA Knight beat Ishowspeed, Logan Paul and Austin Theory
This was the first match of WrestleMania 42 and it was the first WrestleMania Match for Ishowspeed. He was teaming with The Vision. This match only lasted 7 Minutes. Speed was the lone man standing but he gave LA Knight the Body Slam. The Usos hit Superkicks to The Vision. Logan Paul attempted a Frog Splash but Jey Uso got out of the way. Speed by mistake hit Logan Paul and LA Knight hit the BFT on Austin Theory and won the match. After the match Ishowspeed turned babyface and hit Logan Paul with an insane Frog Splash through the announce table. This was a fun opener that should have gone for 5 minutes more.
Jacob Fatu beat Drew Mcintyre in an Unsanctioned Match
This was the third longest match at WrestleMania Saturday. It was the Unsanctioned Match between Drew Mcintyre vs Jacob Fatu. This match lasted 14 minutes. Drew Mcintyre used a steel chair early on in the match and Jacob Fatu hit a Samoan Drop on the barricades. Drew Mcintyre hit the Claymore Kick but Jacob Fatu kicked out. Drew Mcintyre kicked out of the MoonSault. They hit each other with belts and chairs and Drew Mcintyre threw Jacob Fatu through a table. The finish of the match happened when Jacob Fatu had Drew Mcintyre laying on a table and he gave a MoonSault to Drew Mcintyre to win the match.
Brie Bella and Paige beat Charlexa, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and The Irresistible Forces for WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
This was the first title match on the show. The first three teams had made their entrances but The Bella Twins came out and Nikki Bella was unable to compete. She brought out the returning Paige who was in a WWE Ring after 8 years. She got the biggest pop of the night. Nia Jax delivered a Double Samoan Drop to Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. This was a chaotic but a very short match at 9 minutes when they should have got 15. Charlotte Flair and Paige had a great face off after 10 years and the crowd erupted. Paige looked great as she hit the Rampage to Alexa Bliss to win the match and her and Brie Bella are the new Tag Team Champions.
Becky Lynch beat AJ Lee for Women’s Intercontinental Championship
This was one of the most highly anticipated Matches of the night as it was Becky Lynch vs AJ Lee for the title. This match was an absolutely shocking 8 minutes which was an insult to both women. Both of them had great entrances. AJ Lee targeted the knee of Becky looking for Black Widow submission. Becky Lynch got into it with the referee Jessica Carr and that distracted her as AJ Lee hit the Manhandle Slam but Becky kicked out. Becky Lynch used the referee to distract AJ Lee and hit the second Manhandle Slam to win the match and become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Gunther beat Seth Rollins
This was easily the best match of the night at 15 minutes. Before the match even began both men took out each other out of pure hatred. The match started and Gunther started hitting the chops on Seth Rollins and Seth was also looking for a fight. Seth Rollins hit The Pedigree in a beautiful counter but Gunther kicked out. The fans were into it and Gunther hit 2 Powerbombs to Seth Rollins on the outside but Seth Rollins hit the Curb Stomp. As soon as Seth Rollins was about to win the match, Bron Breakker returned to WWE and hit a Spear which allowed Gunther to pass out Seth Rollins. The feud between Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins has started.
Liv Morgan beat Stephanie Vaquer for Women’s World Championship
The third women’s title match and this was the shortest match of the night at 6 minutes. How can these two women who put their heart and soul into this feud for only going for 7 minutes at WrestleMania 42. Liv Morgan had her entrance to her new song. This was a match that Stephanie Vaquer dominated for the first 5 minutes as Stephanie Vaquer was hitting German Suplexes. She was going for the MoonSault but was distracted by Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan hit the Oblivion but Stephanie Vaquer kicked out. Stephanie Vaquer brought back The Devil’s Kiss which got a big pop. Liv hit a second Oblivion to win the Women’s World Championship.
Cody Rhodes beat Randy Orton for WWE Championship
The main event of WrestleMania 42 Saturday was the WWE Championship Match between Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton. Pat McAfee came out to boos all around the Arena. Randy Orton was selling a vicious back injury which Cody Rhodes took full advantage of. He was acting like a heel and the fans were booing him. He was hitting Disaster Kicks, Cody Cutters and Power Power Slams on the injured back. Pat McAfee was taken out by Jelly Roll through the announce table. Randy Orton hit Cross Rhodes but Cody Rhodes kicked out. Cody returned the favour and hit the RKO but to no avail. Pat McAfee was back again as the referee but he couldn’t count to 3. Randy Orton hit Pat McAfee with an RKO but Cody Rhodes took advantage and won the match. Both men were bloodied in this match. After the match Randy Orton hit the Punt Kick on Cody Rhodes to end the show. This was a very good 23 minutes main event.
