It is more and more looking like that WWE and AEW would be going head-to-head in some capacity every month, either through PPVs or special events. Before, in the early 2020s, WWE and AEW would be going to-head every Tuesday when AEW Dynamite would go head-to-head against WWE NXT. Initially AEW Dynamite used to win easily, but slowly NXT started making a comeback, and it brought out the best in both companies.

WWE and AEW are ready for Battle
WWE and AEW have always been in battle mode ever since AEW was launched as a wrestling company in 2018. It has been 8 years, but the hostilities remain. In the starting days of AEW, Tony Khan said that he was the alternative to Vince McMahon and WWE at that time, which was going through a slump creatively. AEW Dynamite was airing weekly, and wrestling fans immediately gravitated towards the newer and fresher product.
WWE made the unwise decision to have NXT going head-to-head, and AEW Dynamite would beat NXT by 200,000+ Viewers every week. The wrestling in AEW was more physical and more bloody. Wrestlers like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Adam Page, Chris Jericho, and Cody Rhodes were the founders of AEW. Then they added Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Job Moxley, Mercedes Mone, and Swerve Strickland, and their biggest get was CM Punk coming out of wrestling retirement after 7 Years.
WWE NXT made a comeback with the likes of Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes, Roxanne Perez, and Tiffany Stratton, who made sure that the gap in viewership was reduced, and both shows were doing over 700,000. Eventually this weekly battle faded out, and AEW Dynamite shifted to Wednesday, and NXT was airing on Tuesday. NXT was getting a better response as Shawn Michaels started featuring more female talent in one show than Tony Khan would feature in a whole month. By 2025, both companies accepted that the other one is here to stay and weekly battles are silly.
However, recently there has become a trend that every month both WWE and AEW hold PPV shows or Special events. They are now going head to head every month. Last month was AEW All In, but WWE scheduled 2 big shows, including NXT Heatwave and an AAA show. On 26th September, AEW will host All Out, but WWE will go head-to-head in Chicago by hosting WWE World's Collide. This is a sign that every month at least WWE will look to go head-to-head against AEW.
WrestleMania 43 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and AEW has already decided that it would hold a big show during both nights of WrestleMania. WWE, anticipating this, has already booked Madison Square Garden for hosting shows such as NXT Stand and Deliver and AAA PPV. This monthly head-to-head will only benefit the Wrestlers as well as the fans. Every month the wrestling fans will get to see wrestlers such as Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Will Osperay, Swerve Strickland, Mercedes Mone and others from AEW.
However, they will also get to see CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Oba Femi, Stephanie Vaquer, Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and many more WWE superstars. Both companies would produce the best Matches so that they have the better product, which only means more quality for the wrestling fans.
