WWE Backlash was held on 9th May 2026 in Tampa FL. There were 5 Matches on the card and the show was one of the best wrestling shows in WWE all year. All the matches got time and the show was under 3 hours. This should be the new standard going forward.

Bron Breakker beat Seth Rollins
This was the first match of the night and it was a 22 minute classic between two incredible professional wrestlers. Seth Rollins was out of the gate with fierce strikes and he went after Bron Breakker. However Bron Breakker took control of the match after he hit a Belly to Belly Suplex on the floor. This was a very important match for Bron Breakker to show that he belonged at the top level. Bron gave a number of vicious clotheslines and back breakers to Seth Rollins. Seth Rollins countered the Spear twice in the match. First with a Superkick and then followed by the Pedigree. Both times he got close falls. Bron also hit the Spear but Seth Rollins kicked out. Seth Rollins hit the Stomp but Bron Breakker kicked out. To end the match Bron Breakker hit a vicious Spear that won him this match.
Trick Williams beat Sami Zayn for United States Championship
This was their rematch from WrestleMania 42. This time they got 13 minutes and both men made the most of it. Trick Williams has become one of the most over WWE wrestlers of the modern era. Sami Zayn took early control of the match as he used his technical wrestling skills to ground Trick Williams and he was acting heelish. Sami Zayn took out Lil Yachty and then gave a DDT to Trick Williams on the steel steps. Trick Williams kicked out. Sami Zayn hit the Blue Thunder Bomb but Trick Williams kicked out. As Sami Zayn was going for the Helluva Kick, Trick Williams countered it with a Trick Shot and won the match. Now both men can look forward to what will be next.
Danhousen and MiniHousen beat The Miz and Kit Wilson
This tag team match was 12 minutes of the best version of goofy wrestling come to life. Danhousen had no partner and then MiniHousen came and everyone was laughing. MiniHousen confused the heels as he was doing high flying moves with Speed. The Miz and Kit Wilson took control of the match and started beating MiniHousen. The best spot of the night was where clones of MiniHousen appeared at the entry stage and were running after The Miz and Kit Wilson. Kit Wilson accidentally cursed himself and The Miz sprayed from the fire extinguisher on himself. Danhousen and MiniHousen won the match. Danhousen has become one of the Top 5 acts in WWE.
Iyo Sky beat Asuka
The only women’s match of the night was one of the Top 2 Matches of the entire show. This was 19 minutes of Joshi wrestling magic. The 14000 fans were divided throughout the match as they were cheering for both Asuka and Iyo Sky. Asuka slammed the head of Iyo Sky to the ring post. She was the heel in this match. Then she followed it with a series of ankle locks and an arm bar. That hurt the arms and legs of Iyo Sky. Iyo Sky came back in the match as she hit a flurry of German Suplexes and a missile Dropkick. Both women were applying submission moves on each other. In an innovative spot, Asuka tried to mistreat Iyo but she avoided it. Iyo Sky hit the MoonSault and won the match. After the match both women hugged and it looked like a farewell to Asuka.
Roman Reigns beat Jacob Fatu for World Heavyweight Championship
This match was the main event of the show and it was for the World Heavyweight Championship. This match was also 18 minutes which was such a pleasant sight as all Matches got their time to shine. Roman Reigns punched Jacob Fatu multiple times early on but they had no effect. Jacob Fatu Powerbombed Roman Reigns through the announce table. Jacob Fatu hit his perfect MoonSault but Roman Reigns kicked out at the last second. To end the match, Roman Reigns hit a thunderous Spear and won the match. After the match Jacob Fatu took out Roman Reigns and turned heel.
