WWE SummerSlam 2025 will be the first ever 2 night SummerSlam Event which will take place. The event will happen on 2nd and 3rd August 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. There will be lots of matches that will take place and the card is shaping up pretty evenly with men’s and women’s Matches.
Let’s look at the Match Card for WWE SummerSlam 2025
John Cena vs Cody Rhodes in a Street Fight for the WWE Championship
This will be the main event for Night 2 of SummerSlam. This is a rematch from the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 41. That match was not good and the fans were not happy with how it went down, especially the involvement of Travis Scott at the end. The John Cena heel turn has not been great except the feud against CM Punk. A Street Fight stipulation was needed and now there can be brutally. There can be interruptions in the match and this match will be far better than WrestleMania 41. The build has been underwhelming as it only had 2 weeks.
Gunther vs CM Punk for World Heavyweight Championship
This is a dream match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Ever since Gunther beat Jey Uso to become World Heavyweight Champion for the second time, this match was one that was asked for by the fans. CM Punk is in the best form of his life and he will look to win his first World Championship in over a decade. This will be one of the best Matches of the weekend. The build has been short but effective as both men are very good talkers. Gunther will have the test of his life at SummerSlam.
Naomi vs Rhea Ripley vs Iyo Sky for Women’s World Championship
This has been one of the best built Matches because all three women have been given prominence for the past 4 months. Naomi recently cashed in Money in the Bank and became Women’s World Champion. She has been the best heel in WWE. Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley are two of the most popular women in wrestling. They had one of the greatest women’s matches of all time at WWE Evolution 2. This match could steal the show and this has to go over 25 minutes. Naomi will have a hard time keeping the title.
Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill for WWE Women’s Championship
The fourth World Championship Match at this show will be for the WWE Women’s Championship. It will be the defending champion Tiffany Stratton against the Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill. This is a match that pits two of the best young athletes against each other. Tiffany Stratton has been the champion for over 6 months. She has had a mixed reign and she has had very good matches. This will be one of her biggest tests. Jade has become much better everyday in WWE. She had a very good match against Naomi. Jade Cargill is ready to become champion but it will not be easy. This will be a barn burner.
Solo Sikoa vs Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage Match for United States Championship
This feud has been going on for more than 2 months. Jacob Fatu won the United States Championship but he was only able to keep it for a short period of time. Solo Sikoa won the title with the help of his Bloodline which includes Tonga Loa, Tala Tonga and JC Mateo. Jacob Fatu has had the help of Jimmy Uso and that has made things even. It will be a Steel Cage Match at SummerSlam. This has been done to not allow any outside interference in the match. They will look to have their best match and prove that they are the future of WWE.
Dominik Mysterio vs AJ Styles for Intercontinental Championship
This has been one of the most funny feuds that has been building for a while. Dominik Mysterio has been acting injured and AJ Styles has been sending gifts and praying for his recovery. At Raw, Dominik attacked AJ Styles and this match was made official. This will be one of the few Matches that Dominik Mysterio would have had as the Intercontinental Champion following WrestleMania 41. AJ Styles will help Dominik Mysterio have one of his best matches in WWE. They could surprise everyone by the quality of their match.
Becky Lynch vs Lyra Valkyria in a No DQ No Count Out Match for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship
The women will get a prominent representation at SummerSlam. This will be the third title match featuring the women at this event. This feud featuring these two women has been incredible. These two women have had some of the best matches this year in WWE. Lyra Valkyria has become one of the most important women in WWE. Becky Lynch has been a great champion and she has elevated the Intercontinental Championship for the women. This will be a No DQ No Count Match. This match will be brutal and physical. If Lyra Valkyria loses then she will not be able to challenge for the title as long as Becky Lynch is champion.
Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs Drew Mcintyre and Logan Paul
This tag team match was the first match that was made official for SummerSlam. This tag team match was first looked at like it was not good and the fans hated it. Jelly Roll will be wrestling in this match. He will be teaming with Randy Orton who is beloved by the fans. Their opponents will be Drew Mcintyre and Logan Paul. Drew Mcintyre has been one of the best wrestlers in the world. Logan Paul has been the best celebrity wrestler the WWE has had. Jelly Roll recently said that he has been training in the WWE PC for 4 weeks. This match will surprise everyone like Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey vs Triple H and Stephanie McMahon shocked everyone at WrestleMania 34.
Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez vs Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The fourth women’s title match that will happen at this show will be the tag team title match. Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez have been very good tag team champions ever since Liv Morgan has been injured. They are having quality matches. Their opponents Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have become the new favourite team for the fans. So much so that Charlotte Flair has become beloved by the fans. This team run will not end soon and this match will be very good. Raquel Rodriguez will have to step up her game against three of the best in the world. Charlotte and Alexa have formed a natural bond that looks wonderful.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed
This match is as good as official. Roman Reigns returned last week on Raw and this week on Raw, he and Jey Uso took out Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. This tag team match will be one of the most anticipated tag team matches of the year. Seth Rollins was unfortunately injured and this match is taking place. This is a very big spot for Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Seeing Roman Reigns and Jey Uso teaming up after all these years will be special. Jey Uso is one of the most over WWE superstars since last year.
Nikki Bella, Stephanie Vaquer and Brie Bella vs Chelsea Green, Alba Fyre and Piper Niven
This will be the 5th women’s match in the show. This match was been built ever since Liv Morgan has been injured. Chelsea Green and her secret service will team up. Nikki Bella and Stephanie Vaquer have formed an alliance and they will need one more woman and that will be Brie Bella. This match is well earned for all these women at the second biggest show of the year. WWE Evolution 2 changed everything that Triple H thought about women’s wrestling.
