Rohit Sharma is an Indian opener and is one of the best strikers of the ball currently in International Cricket. Players in test matches also do not make that score regularly. He did it in only 173 balls. This is the highest score ever made in ODI cricket and till date, this record stands. India scored 404 runs in 50 overs. Sri Lanka in reply could manage 251 for the loss of 10 wickets. India won the match by 153 runs and Rohit Sharma was awarded the man of the match award.

 

2. 209(158) vs Australia- 7th ODI, 2013​

 


India and Australia are two of the best teams in the world of cricket. A match between these two teams is nothing short of an explosion. A similar incident occurred when in this match. Australia won the toss and made a wrong decision to field first. Rohit Sharma entered as an opener and displayed a brilliant knock. He hit 12 boundaries and 16 sixes. His strike rate was 132. India secured a total of 383.

Australia gave a good fight back but ended up short of 57 runs. They got all out for 326. India won the match handsomely and Sharma became the man of the match.​


3.208(153) vs Sri Lanka​- 2nd ODI, 2017

 


Scoring a 200 in a 50 over match is very difficult. Only 7 times have this feat been achieved and out of that, Rohit Sharma has done it 3 times. In this match, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field. This mistake cost them the entire match. Rohit Sharma started hammering the bowlers’ right from the word go.

He squashed 13 boundaries and 12 sixes and maintained a strike rate of 135. He is till date the only batsman to score a triple hundred thrice in his career in ODI's. Shikhar Dhawan and Sreyash Iyer provide him equal support in this match. India ended up putting 392 on the scorecard. In response, Sri Lanka managed 251 with only a notable century from Mendis. Sharma was awarded man of the match award.

 

4. 118(43) vs Sri Lanka- 2nd T20, 2017


 

Whether it is in Test, ODI or in T20, Rohit Sharma knows the art of scoring hundreds. In this twenty-twenty match, Sharma struck the ball hard and delivered 12 fours and 10 sixes. He had a strike rate of 274. His pull shots were outstanding. His technique combined with his agility has helped him to master the art of playing big shots.

India scored 260/5 in 20 overs. In return, Sri Lanka showed some fights but could manage only 172. India won the match by 88 runs and Sharma was the player of the match.

 

5. 106(66) vs South Africa, 1st T20, 2015


 

Rohit Sharma launched a massive against the Proteas and scored a thumping 106. It was his second century. He helped India register a target of 199. Sharma hit 12 fours and 5 sixes. It looked like a good total, however, Indian bowlers failed to pick wickets at regular intervals and fielding was also not up to the mark.

Both the teams fought hard and South Africa won with just two balls to spare. JP Duminy was the man of the match, but it was one of the finest innings Rohit Sharma ever played.
