Before talking about this list it’s important to talk about the history of the Asia Cup when it comes to batters because Asia is home to the best of cricket and the batters that come out of here are some of the most elegant and best stroke players one has seen. So, with that being said let’s see which are the Top 5 Highest batting partnerships in Asia Cup history.


Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed (224 Runs)


This is the record for the highest batting partnership in the history of Asia Cup and it came against India for these 2 Pakistan batters and it came in 2012 at Mirpur. This was the opening stand between these 2 players and both of them scored amazing hundreds for Pakistan and they batted together for 36 overs and Mohammad Hafeez got 105 runs and Nasir Jamshed got 112 runs in this innings. Unfortunately Pakistan lost this match because in this match Virat Kohli hit a stunning 183 runs and won the match for India. Still, this is the record for the highest batting partnership in the history of Asia Cup.


Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan (223 Runs)


The second best partnership in the Asia Cup also belongs to Pakistan and this time it was Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan who got 223 runs together which is 1 run short of number 1 and these 2 got this big partnership against Hong Kong in 2004. In this match Pakistan were batting first and they were at 51-2 when these 2 came to bat and from here on they took on the Hong Kong Bowlers and they had every answer and scored runs all around the ground and took Pakistan to a winning score. Younis Khan Scored 118 runs and Shoaib Malik scored 144 runs in this match. It was a special partnership.


Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane (213 Runs)


The third best partnership in this list is by an Indian batting pair and it was Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane who got 213 runs together against Bangladesh in 2014. India were chasing 280 runs to win in this match and Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane had a brilliant 213 sun partnership where Ajinkya Rahane scored a good 73 runs but it was Virat Kohli who stole the show and scored a majestic 136 runs and won the match for India. This was one of the best chasing partnerships ever.


Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan (210 runs)


This was also a batting partnership that came in a chase for India and this came in 2018 against Pakistan and Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan made merry and scored brilliant hundreds and won the match easily for India. Shikhar Dhawan scored a stunning 114 runs but it was Rohit Sharma who was there right till the end and made sure that he finished the match for India and they won the match by 9 wickets with more than 10 overs to spare.


Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli (205 Runs)


The 5th and final batting partnership in this list is also by an Indian pair and this time it was Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli who made 205 runs together against Sri Lanka in 2012. This was the 2nd wicket partnership and both Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli scored great Hundreds for India and Gautam got 100 and Virat Kohli got 108 runs and India won this match by 50 runs. This was when Gautam Gambhir was at his best and Virat Kohli was starting to break through.
