The much-dreaded international break is over with far less injuries this time which the FPL Managers fear. The Gameweek returns with Matchday 4 starting on Saturday. Although the transfer window got over a while ago, 1 transfer made sure to shake up the whole FPL with many majority managers changing their plan to accommodate that one man. Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The homecoming has happened and the Portuguese stalwart has been priced at 12.5 million in the game. The announcement of his signing meant many FPL managers have changed their squads before the upcoming gameweek which may have an overall impact on the returns they get this week.

Let’s have a look at the Top 5 forward picks for Gameweek 4:

1. Michail Antonio (£7.9m), Southampton vs West Ham

One of the surprises of this season Michail Antonio has started with a bang. After yet another double figure haul against Palace, the Jamaican now averages more than 13 points per game. Keeping such a player out of your team is a suicidal move considering his upcoming 7 fixtures all have FDR of 3 bar one.

The Jamaican will resume after the International Break with an away fixture against Southampton. The Reds have not been at their best defensively, so it is yet another fixture where Antonio can prevail. He should also be considered as one of the captaincy alternatives.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m), Manchester United vs Newcastle

The homecoming is all set to take place when Manchester United host Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday. Although there are doubts over whether Cristiano Ronaldo will play the full 90 on his return, reports suggest that 90 mins are a possibility. The Portuguese is never out of the game and always expected to score and assist. In the long term as well, Ronaldo will be a crucial FPL pick.

Some players are fixture proof and can be trusted to deliver irrespective of FDR ratings. Such is Ronaldo, so having a premium option like him will be a must going forward starting with the fixture against Newcastle.

3. Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m), Chelsea vs Aston Villa

The Belgian has settled in well at Chelsea, as he started off by scoring against Arsenal. This is yet another premium pick, who going forward will be difficult to keep out of the team. Chelsea’s attacking intent and Lukaku being at the core of it means he will always be involved in the goals.

A home game against Aston Villa, is a great fixture for a player of his stature to get a haul. With all the limelight on Ronaldo this weekend, Lukaku can arguably manage a higher points haul than the Portuguese.

4. Harry Kane (£12.3m), Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

After the end of all the transfer saga, Harry Kane has stayed at Tottenham. The Spurs Talisman who formed a dangerous duo with Son last season, is expected to shine again this season. The Golden Boot candidate can get his season up and running against a Crystal Palace side, which are still settling in under their new manager.

Tottenham have started the season well, winning all their matches and they will be expected to continue this against the Eagles. The return of Kane will boost the North Londoners and it will also mean some goals for the man himself. After having seen a price drop, Kane is surprisingly a differential at this stage. Getting him early can be a smart move, as he is someone who will eventually come into the team for all FPL Managers.

5. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£8.2m), Everton vs Burnley

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was one of the surprises of last season and ended up being a must-have in FPL. The Englishmen has had a decent start to this season as well scoring in all of his 3 fixtures. The matches ahead provide a decent run of form for Calvert-Lewin, so having him can turn out to be a good option.

Although there have been some injury concerns for the forward, Calvert-Lewin is expected to start this weekend against Burnley. Expect a haul from him at the weekend and in the season ahead if he keeps his form.
