IPL has always given an opportunity to youngsters to showcase their talent. There are many young cricketers who aspire to play in the IPL. In Pre-IPL era performance in the domestic tournaments in cricket like Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy mattered the most for the selection of India’s limited overs side.

In the post-IPL era more importance was given to the performance in the IPL. IPL has produced many talented young cricketers who represented their respective national teams in later part of their careers. Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and R.Ashwin; these players came into the spotlight through IPL and are now dominating world cricket.

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal:


Yashasvi Jaiswal a young Indian prodigy from Mumbai has impressed everyone with his performance in domestic cricket and Under-19 cricket. He grabbed the eyeballs in the cricketing fraternity when he became the youngest player to score list-A double century while playing for Mumbai against Jharkhand in Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2019.

He represented India under-19 in a world cup which was played earlier this year. He was the highest run getter in that WC. He scored 400 runs in 6 matches at an impressive average of 133.33

In this IPL season he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals at a whopping price of 2.4 crore. It will be a huge learning experience for him to play alongside some international superstars.


2. Ravi Bishnoi:


Ravi Bishnoi a young talented cricketer from Rajasthan has impressed everyone with his stellar performance in the recently concluded Under-19 World Cup. He was the highest wicket taker in the tournament.

He picked up a total of 17 wickets in 6 matches at an impressive average of 10.65. In IPL 2020 he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for a jaw-dropping sum of 2 crore. He has got a great googly in his armour.

Kings XI Punjab team management will be hoping for a good performance from this young leg spinner. It is a great opportunity for him to showcase his talent at a big stage like IPL.

 

3. R.Sai Kishore:


R Sai Kishore a left arm spinner from Tamilnadu has impressed everyone with his performance in recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was the highest wicket taker in the tournament.

He picked up 20 wickets in 12 matches with an impressive economy of 4.64 and average of 10.40. He also performed well for Chepauk Super Gillies while playing in the Tamilnadu Premier League (TNPL).

In this IPL season Chennai Super Kings signed him for 20 lakhs. He will be looking to make most out of this opportunity.

 

4. Devdutta Padikkal:


Devdutta Padikkal a talented youngster from Karnataka grabbed the attention in the cricketing circle with his stellar performances in Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was the highest run getter in both the tournaments.

In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy he scored 580 runs in 12 matches at an impressive strike rate of 175.76. In Vijay Hazare Trophy he scored 609 runs with 2 centuries in 11 matches.

Padikkal is also flexible with his batting position as he has opened the innings as well as played at numbers 3, 4 and 5 for Karnataka. RCB has signed him for 20 lakhs for the upcoming IPL season.

 

5. Josh Philippe:


A young talented wicket keeper batsman form Western Australia had a great BBL season in 2019-20. He was a part of Sydney Sixers who won the BBL trophy this year. He played a huge role while representing the Sydney Sixers.

He scored 487 runs with 5 fifties in 16 matches in that tournament. He was signed by RCB at a base price of 20 lakhs. It’s a huge opportunity for him to play alongside some international stars.
