During the IPL 2023 Ahmedabad match between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders, Titans' left-arm pacer Yash Dayal conceded 69 runs in his four overs quota, and he couldn't take any wickets in that game. KKR chased down the 205-run target on the final ball of the match and won by three wickets. It was a dramatic finish for the KKR who required 29 runs in the final over. Rinku Singh smashed five successive sixes in the final five balls and collected 31 runs in the final over to end the game with a stunning win.

The third most expensive bowling tint in IPL history is from Basil Thampi, the young bowler who then played for Sunrisers Hyderabad. On 17th May 2018, in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Basil conceded a total of 70 runs in four overs which cost the team a match as SRH lost by 14 runs.

During the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals at Delhi, Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma recorded the most expensive bowling figures in IPL history at that time. The right-arm Indian pacer had bowling figures of 4-0-73-0 with an economy rate of 18.25, the second most costly bowling figures in the latest IPL history. It cost them heavily in the match as Gujarat Titans lost the high-scoring match by four runs in their unsuccessful chase of 225 runs.

In the 27th match of the IPL 2025, SunRisers Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Shami had a shocking day as he recorded the most expensive bowling figures by an Indian bowler in IPL history. It was the match against Punjab Kings, where the visitors scored 245/6 in 20 overs, and Shami had the bowling figures of 4-0-75-0. On the batting-friendly wicket, Shami seemed clueless and finished with four consecutive sixes to Marcus Stoinis to make his figures horrible.

Once a fearest bowler, Barbados-born English cricketer Jofra Archer started the IPL 2025 journey horribly by recording the most expensive bowling figures in IPL history. It was the second game of the tournament, where Rajasthan Royals were facing the hosts SunRisers Hyderabad, and SRH started the IPL 2025 in a familiar powerful fashion with the bat. SRH recorded the second-highest IPL total, 286/6 in 20 overs, and Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer had the bowling figures of 4-0-76-0.
