Finally WWE have started announcing the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2022 and the first inductee was announced on SmackDown and before the show all the fans were trying to speculate as who could be that first inductee and majority of the fans said that it was going to be The Great Muta but to the shock of everyone it was Rey Mysterio and it was a pleasant surprise because he totally deserves this honor because he is the greatest Luchador wrestler of all time.
Rey Mysterio is a name that is known around the world not just in wrestling fans but also sports fans know him through his mask because he is that great and he has been wrestling for over 30 years and he still looks like he could go for another 10.
So, let’s discuss the reasons as to why Rey Mysterio is the perfect WWE Hall of Fame inductee for 2023:
He has earned this honor and is one of the greatest of all time
The first and most important reason is that he has earned this honor on the basis of his work he has put in the wrestling ring for over 30 years and the matches he has had in this run especially against his best friend Eddie Guerrero. He is the inspiration for all the Luchador wrestlers who are wrestling today and they all look up to him. He is the biggest underdog and he has won everything from the Royal Rumble to the world championship at WrestleMania to the Intercontinental Championship as well. He is 30+ years in and it looks like he wants to hang up his boots.
It will benefit the Rey vs Dominik Mysterio story heading into WrestleMania
This will be one of the rare occasions that the WWE Hall of Fame will be used to further advance a story and that too a story which is this good. Dominik Mysterio has challenged Rey Mysterio to a match at WrestleMania but Rey has refused and he will refuse till the last moment until Dominik Mysterio does something in the Hall of Fame ceremony that will compel Rey Mysterio to fight his own son and it will most probably be his last Wrestling match because there will be no better way for him to retire than by putting his son over.
Rey Mysterio and Batista could go in the WWE Hall of Fame together
It is a possibility that Rey Mysterio and Batista could go in the same WWE Hall of Fame class and that will be perfect looking at the history between those two men. Rey Mysterio and Batista were tag team champions for a long time and they have had a blood feud as well and they always brought out the best in each other so to see these two legends going in together will be absolutely glorious for the WWE universe.
