England, one of the oldest international cricket teams, is ready to welcome 2026 with a new hope, while they have a lot to prove, including the challenge in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. 


Here, we are checking the complete cricket schedule for England in the calendar year of 2026. 


January: England tour of Australia (Ashes 2025/26)

  • Last match of the 5-match Test series

Visitors England have already lost the series by trailing 3-1, while the Sydney Test is yet to be played. 


January-February: England tour of Sri Lanka

  • 3-match ODI series

  • 3-match T20I series

It will be the first time Sri Lanka hosts England in a bilateral ODI series since October 2018, when England won that series. 

England and Sri Lanka have played only one-off T20I as a bilateral series commitment, which England won in 2018.


February 7 – March 8: ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (Hosts India and Sri Lanka)

June: New Zealand tour of England

  • 3-match Test series

In their last home Test series battle in 2022, England beat New Zealand by 3-0, winning that bilateral series for the first time since 2015.  


July: India tour of England

  • 3-match ODI series

  • 5-match T20I series

England won their last home bilateral ODI series against India in 2018, while India won their last bilateral ODI series meeting in England in 2022. 


Hosts England won the first two one-off T20I battles against India, but later they suffered two home bilateral T20I series defeats against India. 


August-September: Pakistan tour of England

  • 3-match Test series

England are unbeaten in the home bilateral Test series against Pakistan in the 21st century with three wins and three draws, while last time they suffered a home Test series defeat against Pakistan in 1996. 


September: Sri Lanka tour of England

  • 3-match ODI series

  • 3-match T20I series

Hosts England have won their last two bilateral ODI series against Sri Lanka, losing their last home ODI series against the Lankans in 2014. 


Hosts England won their last two bilateral T20I series against Sri Lanka, including a one-off T20I in 2016. 


November: England tour of Australia

  • 3-match ODI series

  • 5-match T20I series

Apart from winning one series in 2018, England have lost all of their remaining bilateral ODI series against the hosts Australia (including the last series), which had at least two games. 


While England won their previous bilateral T20I series against the hosts Australia in 2022, Australia won the previous one, and there was a draw in the series after the hosts Australia won the one-off encounter in 2007. 


December: England tour of South Africa

  • 3-match Test series

  • 3-match ODI series

  • 3-match T20I series

(England tour of South Africa will stretch to February 2027)


England haven’t lost an away bilateral Test series against South Africa since 2004, recording three series wins (including the last two Test series) and one series draw.


England recorded their only bilateral ODI series win against the hosts South Africa in 2009. In their last three bilateral ODI series in South Africa, England lost twice and drew once. 


England have played four bilateral T20I series against the hosts South Africa, where they won the last two after recording one series draw and one series defeat.
