Sachin Tendulkar (India) 141 vs Australia in 1998

During the quarter-final of the 1998 edition, Indian star Sachin Tendulkar produced an incredible all-round performance against Australia to clinch a 44-run win. Although India lost their first two wickets for only eight runs, opener Sachin handled the situation well along with middle-order batters. While Rahul Dravid (48) and Ajay Jadeja (71) played useful knocks, Sachin’s 141 off 128 balls (13 fours and three sixes) guided India to 307/8. It was the second century in the tournament’s history. Later, Sachin picked up four wickets (4/38), as Australia were all out for 263 runs.


Graeme Smith (South Africa) 141 vs England in 2009

During the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 Group Stage match, when hosts South Africa were chasing the 324-run target against England, Proteas skipper Graeme Smith fought hard as the left-handed batter scored 141 off 134 balls with 16 fours. However, due to a lack of solid support from the other end, South Africa lost that match by 22 runs.

During the semi-final of the 2000 edition against South Africa, Indian captain Sourav Ganguly slammed 141 not out off 142 balls to guide India to 295/6 in 50 overs. In that unforgettable innings, the left-handed opening batter hit 11 fours and six sixes. India won that match by 95 runs and advanced to the Final, while Ganguly also picked up one wicket in his only over of the match. 


Andy Flower (Zimbabwe) 145 vs India in 2002

In this Group Stage match of the 2002 edition, after India scored 288/6, Zimbabwe star Andy Flower fought almost single-handedly. While the next highest score in that innings was 33 runs, Flower scored 145 off 164 balls with the help of 13 fours. He was dismissed in the 49th over, and India won that thriller by 14 runs.

It was the first ODI for the USA, where New Zealand lost their two early wickets in that Group Stage match in the 2004 edition, but the opener Nathan Astle handled the innings strongly. He scored 145 not out off 151 balls with 13 fours and six sixes, as the Blackcaps recorded the highest total in the tournament history, 347/4 in 50 overs. New Zealand added 96 runs in the last four overs, while Astle scored 26 runs in the final over by firing three consecutive sixes and two fours. The Blackcaps won that match by 210 runs.  


Ben Duckett (England) 165 vs Australia in 2025

It was the first match for both England and Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which was a Group B match. English opener Ben Duckett had an influential role in managing the record total of the tournament - 351/8 in 50 overs. The left-handed opening batter completed his third ODI century in 95 balls and then reached 150 runs in 134 balls. Duckett was the first batter in ICC Champions Trophy history to score 150 runs as he was out in the 48th over after scoring 165 off 143 balls with 17 fours and three sixes. However, the dew effect put the English bowlers clueless as Australia chased the record target by setting a new record total of the tournament 356/5 in 47.3 overs.  


Ibrahim Zadran (Afghanistan) 177 vs England in 2025

It was the crucial Afghanistan vs England match in Group B of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, as it was the must-win match for both teams to stay in the fight for the semi-final contention. After Afghanistan chose to bat first, they lost the first three wickets inside the first powerplay. However, opener Ibrahim Zadran was on song with the crucial support from the middle-order batters. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi (40), Azmatullah Omarzai (41), and Mohammad Nabi (40) added crucial 40s, while Zadran recorded the highest ODI score for Afghanistan by smashing 177 off 146 balls with 12 fours and six sixes, and Afghanistan scored 325/7 in 50 overs.
