India vs Sri Lanka T20I Series 2022 Preview

After a very successful series against the West Indies which took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and where the Indian team swept the good West Indies T20I team 3-0 ,it is now time to look forward to the next international assignment for Team India and it will be against a very good Sri Lanka T20I squad who will pose a much greater threat than the West Indies did in this series as Sri Lanka have found a lot of good attacking players who can easily turn the match around for their nation.

The series against Sri Lanka will also be a 3 match T20I series and this time it will be played in two different venues , The first T20I will be played in Lucknow on 24th February and the last two matches will be played at the beautiful stadium in Dharamshala on 26th and 27th February. Both the teams will be looking forward to win this series and get some much needed preparation for the T20I World Cup in Australia later this year. The fans will be able to watch their favourite cricketers play. So let’s look at the players who can make their mark in this series.

India -

Ishan Kishan: After having a disaster of a series against West Indies this young left handed batter will be eager to show that he Is a rare talent and he can attack the cricket ball from ball one till ball 120 if he is there at the end. And also he will be eager to show the Mumbai Indians team management that they did the right thing by investing 15.25 crores for him and he would also look to solidify his place in the Indian team going forward as it is a world cup year as well. A lot is riding in this series for this young attacking cricketer and hopefully he comes out in top.

Venkatesh Iyer: He is slowly becoming one of the most important parts of this Indian T20I teak as he is a proper fast bowling all rounder and he has shown in the West Indies series that he can bat lower down the order and play attacking cricket and even rescue his team from difficult situations so he will be eager to continue this good form and bowl more to gain more confidence in both the departments and become an undroppable part of this Indian team going into the World Cup later this year.

Ravindra Jadeja: The OG all rounder is back after a long layoff and it’s almost certain that he will start the first match against Sri Lanka looking how good he is in all the three departments so everyone will be very eager to see how Jaddu is shaping up after coming back after so long and I if he still has that midas touch after this while and if he does then nothing better for the Indian team as he is easily the best fielder in the team so a lot of runs will be saved as well.

Sri Lanka's squad is yet to be announced but the players we can except in this team are players like their captain Dasun Shanaka who has proved to be an excellent leader for the Sri Lankan team and players like Bhanuka Rajapaksa ,Charith Asalanka are batters who will provide lots of runs for the team. Avishka Fernando will provide solidity to the batting order as he will anchor the innings for Sri Lanka. They also have all rounders like Chamika Karunaratne and Mahesh Theekshana are players who can perform both these roles for the team and their bowlers like Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Kumara will be Dangerous for the Indian team so it won’t be an east series for India.
