Dilip entered the Indian dressing room, the fielding standards were increasing as Virat Kohli was insistent on the fact. However, T. Dilip, with his calm nature, strove to make sure that fielding would be celebrated as much as bowling and batting. T. Dilip made the players perform meticulous drills, which included hundreds of catches at the slips.
The slip catching improved in all 3 formats. He brought about innovative training methods, and he was a man who wanted positional discipline, which means that no fielder should field out of the place he has been given.
Another area that vastly improved under T. Dilip was the boundary fielding. The batters look to score fours and sixes in the final overs. He made the players practice diving across the ropes, and he made them practice catches that could happen in an actual match. Players like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Axar Patel evolved into world-class fielders. T. Dilip will be most remembered for the fact that he made fielding into something that the cricket fan enjoyed.
