Today we will start a series of articles on Asia Cup as it right around the corner and now we will talk about the highest individual scores by batters in the tournament’s history and this is a list of the best of the best from Asia over the years and some of the scores are match winning knocks when they single handedly won the match for India. Before we get to the list I want to tell that I am very excited for the upcoming Asia Cup as it is one of the few true multi team tournaments other than the ICC events and some of the best teams from Asia take part in it and we get to see India vs Pakistan a number of times as well. So, let’s go to the list of the Top 5 highest individual scores in the history of the Asia Cup.
Virat Kohli – 183 vs Pakistan
This is the highest individual score by a batter in Asia Cup history and it was none other than Virat Kohli and he made this in a run chase of over 330 runs no less and it was also the last ODI of Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli smashed Pakistan to all parts and hit 22 fours and 1 six and took India home with 2 overs to spare in this mammoth run chase and won the match for his idol Sachin Tendulkar.

Younis Khan – 144 vs Hong Kong
The second highest score is 39 runs behind Virat Kohli and it was the great Younis Khan who made a sublime 144 vs Hong Kong in 2004 and Pakistan were batting first in this match and Khan made full use of the conditions and scored 144 from only 122 balls with 20 fours and it wax a delightful innings to watch and Pakistan won this match by 178 runs in the End.
Shoaib Malik – 143 vs India
Shoaib Malik is the 3rd highest individual score by just 1 run and this innings by Shoaib is also his best ODI innings and he tore India apart that day in 2004 and it looked like he would not get out . The other batters from Pakistan were getting out but Shoaib Malik was stuck at one end and moving the score and he played an absolutely incredible knock of 143 from just 127 balls and Pakistan won the match by 59 runs when it was all said and done and it was all because of this innings by Malik.

Virat Kohli -136 vs Bangladesh
This is the second Virat Kohli innings on this list and this also came in a chase and from here on he was started being called Chase Master because he would chase down any total for India. Bangladesh had made 280 runs in the 1st innings but it proved to be not sufficient as Virat Kohli absolutely bossed this chase and made 136 by hitting 16 fours and 2 sixes and won India the match.
Sourav Ganguly – 135 vs Bangladesh
Sourav Ganguly is the 5th member of this list and what a great innings to end the day on. It came against Bangladesh in 2000 and India were chasing 250 and Sourav Ganguly destroyed the Bangladesh bowlers to all parts of the ground and he hit 6 fours and 7 big sixes and India won the match with 9 overs to spare. It was a brutal innings by Dada.
