This is a question that I did not want to talk about Because calling anybody the C word is not good and is not respectful but this South Africa team they went to the World Cup this year was one of the best teams they have ever sent and everyone thought that they would easily quality from Group 2 along with India or Pakistan. And this has been happening for decades when they should have won an ICC event at least considering how good a side they are.

Before we talk about the reasons why South Africa is not able to cross that final hurdle and sometimes they get knocked out in the semi final and sometimes they get knocked out just before they are about to reach the semi final and that is sad to see because they have such amazing cricket players and it would have been great to see them win once.

Feeling the pressure

This is the biggest reason why South Africa are unable to qualify for the semi final or they are not able to win the semi final match. South Africa dies so well in the starting stages of the tournament and they win all their matches but when it comes to the point where they are about to do something special for their nation and win the World Cup or get in the final, they falter at that hurdle. As a neutral cricket fan it is baffling as to how it happens everytime that they feel the pressure at the wrong time

The big players don’t perform

This is also another big reason why South Africa are not able to cross that final hurdle as their big players who do so well in the early stages of the tournament and when the time comes for them to stand up most for their nation they don’t perform well and as a result South Africa are out of the World Cup.

Bad Team selection

The major issue with South Africa cricket is that they have a selection based on quota that a certain number of players have to be from a particular race and that instantly results in less merit being rewarded as is the case with their current captain Temba Bavuma. Their selection has many constraints and as a result they are not able to select the best team for the big Matches because they might have to drop a certain player because he is not from that race.
