India Women extended their Women’s Asia Cup title record to the eighth time, including their fourth T20 Asia Cup title, after thrashing the defending champions Sri Lanka Women in the Final of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 at Dubai (DICS) on Sunday. With this victory, India Women also took their revenge for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 Final defeat, which the hosts Sri Lanka Women won by eight wickets.
After India Women chose to bat first in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 Final, they scored 183/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka Women were bundled out for only 111 runs in 20 overs, as India Women won the Final by 72 runs.

Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma produced a perfect start, as India Women dominated the Final from the early stages of the game. They had a 129-run partnership for the first wicket, where Verma scored 68 off 39 balls with nine fours and two sixes, and Mandhana scored 59 off 39 balls with five fours and three sixes.
There were no other 20-run marks in that innings, while the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (14) and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh (17) failed to score big runs. Lately, Gunalan Kamalini had a brilliant cameo with 15 not out off five balls, including one four and one six.
There were no Lankan bowlers who managed more than one wicket, while Mithali Ayodhya (1/33), Chamari Athapaththu (1/34), and Chamudi Praboda (1/40) got one wicket each.

Although captain Chamari Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne had a 58-run partnership for the second wicket, they were never into the case. Chamari scored 36 off 32 balls with four fours and two sixes, and Vishmi scored 20 off 22 balls with two fours. Later, only Nilakshika Silva (22) managed a double-digit score.
Shree Charani finished the night with the bowling figures of 4-1-20-4, while Deepti Sharma had the bowling figures of 4-0-19-3.

It is the highest total in the history of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup Final. The previous record was 167/2 (18.4 overs) by Sri Lanka Women against India Women in the 2024 Final.
It was the fourth-highest total in the history of any Women’s T20I tournament Final.
