Best Midfielders in Fantasy Premier League for this week (GW17)
Phil Foden (Manchester City, £8.8m)
Phil Foden is in devastating form at the moment, and he's arguably the best Manchester City player currently even ahead of the machine that is Erling Haaland. At his current form, there's no doubt that Phil Foden is one of the best FPL midfielders you can pick, whether it's for this week or future Gameweeks in the foreseeable future. Pep Guardiola's side will also be facing a weak West Ham side at home in GW17, and that makes Foden a must-have in our opinion.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa, £7.1m)
Morgan Rogers has exceeded all expectations this season, and he has been so outstanding that it now looks likely that he could displace the likes of Jude Bellingham and Cole Palmer to become England's No 10 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup behind Harry Kane. Rogers has been magnificent for Villa as well, and they'll next face a Manchester United side who have been horrible in defense without star player Matthijs de Ligt. Another must-have for Gameweek 17 according to us.
Cole Palmer (Chelsea, £10.3m)
Chelsea have been extremely careful with Cole Palmer since his return from Injury against Everton. This meant that he only played around 58 minutes against Everton last weekend. That's all that he needed as well to make a huge impact, as Palmer scored a beautiful goal. Newcastle away in a GW17 sounds like a tough fixture on paper, but Eddie Howe's side have been underwhelming in the Premier League this season. Thus, there's a huge chance that Palmer ends up with fantastic attacking returns this week.
Callum Hudson-Odoi (Nottingham Forest, £5.7m)
Callum Hudson-Odoi arguably had his best ever performance in a Nottingham Forest shirt against Thomas Frank's Tottenham side, as he scored 2 and assisted another in what was nothing less than a sensational performance. Thus, with the former Chelsea player in such high confidence and Forest facing Fulham next, Hudson-Odoi is our best budget midfielder pick for this Gameweek. An absolute bargain at £5.7m with his current form against a weak Fulham side.
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal, £10.3m)
Arsenal won against Wolves by scoring 2 own goals. The surprising fact is that Bukayo Saka was credited with the assist for both of them, which now makes him an even more attractive FPL pick if you really think about it. Saka is one of the best midfielders in the league who could easily give you attacking returns in the form of goals or assists. The fact he can now give you returns from his corners for even own goals is a bizarre yet unique positive. Everton looks to be a great fixture as well for Saka to provide decent returns.
