FPL team of the week - GW5

Goalkeeper

Robin Roefs (Sunderland)

Robin Roefs is slowly emerging as one of the finest young goalkeepers in the EPL, and his in-form Sunderland side will be facing a dreadful Aston Villa. Expect a potential clean sheet and at least some save points if he's in your FPL team of the week.

Defenders

Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool)

Virgil Van Dijk is coming from scoring the winner in Liverpool's Champions League fixture against Diego Simeone's Atlético Madrid, and we expect him to continue the good form against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

Micky van de Ven (Tottenham)

Micky Van de Ven scored in Tottenham's 0-3 win over West Ham, and is highly expected to continue his good form when Spurs face Brighton away. In addition to clean sheet points, you may even earn some defensive contribution points from him.

Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest has one of the easiest fixtures in Gameweek 5, as they face Burnley away. This makes Neco Williams a top FPL defender pick for GW5, and who knows if you may get absolutely lucky and he ends with a set-piece goal or assist.

Midfielders

Cole Palmer (Chelsea,Vice Captain)

Cole Palmer has been sensational since he returned from injury, and is slowly getting back to his very best. Chelsea will face Manchester United who have been simply abysmal under Ruben Amorim, and you can even make Palmer your captain if willing to take the gamble.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth)

Antoine Semenyo has been one of the best FPL midfielders so far this season, and we expect him to continue his streak of providing returns against Newcastle United at home. Newcastle vs Barcelona ended in defeat for the Magpies, and they'll be quite tired after the late UCL fixture as well. This gives Bournemouth and Semenyo a huge advantage.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool,Captain)

Mohamed Salah is our best FPL captain pick for this week, as he has been simply sensational. Although Alexander Isak made his debut against Atlético Madrid, it was Salah yet again who made his mark in the game. We predict the Egyptian to provide you with fantastic returns in the Merseyside Derby against Everton.

Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham)

Mohammed Kudus has had an excellent start to life at Spurs under Thomas Frank, but he has slowed down a bit in the past few games. This makes the away fixture against Brighton quite appealing for Kudus, as Brighton are quite weak in defence. Thus Kudus could w be a game changer in your FPL team of the week.

Dan Ndoye (Nottingham Forest)

Dan Ndoye is another new signing that has had a promising start at Nottingham Forest. With Ange Venus prioritising an ultra-attacking style of play and Forest facing Burnley, Ndoye stands out as a stunning differential pick in our best fpl team for this week.

Forwards

Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest)

Chris Wood is another huge shout from us as best FPL captain this week if you're willing to take the risk. As mentioned above, Forest will be playing a highly offensive style of football and they could end up scoring tons of goals. This makes a highly attractive pick for our best fpl team for this week.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace)

Mateta is slowly establishing himself as one of finest strikers in the Premier League, and he's an attractive FPL forward pick for GW5 since Crystal Palace are facing West Ham away. West Ham have been one of the worst EPL  sides defensively so far, and this makes Mateta a top choice for your FPL team of the week.

Bench

Sam Johnstone (Goalkeeper, Wolves)

Emmanuel Agbadou (Defender, Wolves)

Omar Alderete (Defender, Sunderland)

Wilson Isidor (Forward, Sunderland)

This is our best fpl team for this week (GW5):
