Premier League resumes on Friday with Gameweek 9 and so does Fantasy Premier League. After the midweek of Champions League, Premier League returns with an exciting fixture in place between Manchester United and Liverpool. Fantasy Managers will be preparing their teams and getting it ready before the Friday night deadline.

Let’s have a look at our Top 5 midfield options for Gameweek 9:

1. Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), Manchester United vs Liverpool

Arguably one of the best players in the world right now, Mohammed Salah in the FPL team is a no brainer. Some players are fixture-proof and Salah is one of them. One of the consistent players in the premier league over the years, Salah has started this season on the right note. The winger already has 7 goals and 5 assists this season.

The match against rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford is not the ideal fixture but given the current defensive problems of United, Salah will fancy a chance or two. Selected by 64.2% of managers, he is one of the popular picks in FPL, and if you don’t have him by now you cannot expect green arrows in FPL.

2. Kai Havertz (£8.1m), Chelsea vs Norwich

The German prodigy is yet to hit the ground running this season, but he has the potential to do so. With Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner doubtful for the game, this could be Havertz’s chance to shine. The midfielder only has 1 goal season but the fixtures for Chelsea ahead look exciting.

Selected by only 4.6% of managers, Havertz could be a great differential going into this gameweek. The fixture against Norwich, who have been poor this season is the perfect chance for Havertz to get a haul. At 8.1m, he could be that midfielder to select in the 7- 8 m range of players.

3. Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m), Brighton vs Manchester City

The Belgian midfielder looks to have found his mojo back after successive hauls of 11 and 8 points. One of the popular picks of last season, De Bruyne has not been in most of FPL managers due to his injury concerns. However, with the fixtures looking promising for City and De Bruyne looking like his old self, this could be the chance to get him in.

Brighton have not been the easiest sides to face this year, but Manchester City are one of the best sides in the league and could defeat any side in the world on their day. Kevin De Bruyne in such form will be looking forward to the trip to Brighton. Even though the price is too high of De Bruyne, he is currently owned by only 3.5% of FPL managers and could prove to be one of the best differentials available in the game.

4. Andros Townsend (£5.7m), Everton vs Watford

The Everton midfielder has been one of the bright sparks this season for his side. Townsend has contributed to 3 goals and 2 assists this season and is leading the attacking charge of the team in the absence of Richarlison and Calwert-Lewin. He has already collected 45 points this season and looks set for more.

Watford have been one of the weakest sides defensively and Townsend would be looking forward to a haul against them. Selected by only 12% of FPL Managers, Townsend could be a great differential going ahead. Being on set-pieces has increased the value of getting Townsend in your team. At the price of 5.7m he could be the best attacking threat available in midfielders.

5. Nathan Redmond (£5.9m), Southampton vs Burnley

This is one of the differential options for this gameweek which could turn out be a great 1-week punt. Redmond accumulated 9 points in Southampton’s last fixture and looked threatening when they attacked.

The fixture against Burnley will be yet another chance for Redmond to get a haul. Selected by only 0.2%, he could be a good option in the 5.5m to 6m range. Southampton’s fixtures in the next four gameweeks present a good opportunity for FPL managers to capitalize on.
