We are here with our best FPL tips this week for Gameweek 4 of the 26-27 Season. Fantasy Premier League managers have plenty to consider heading into Gameweek 4 of the 2026/27 season. With several difficult fixtures on the horizon and some intriguing differential opportunities emerging, making the right decisions now could have a significant impact on your overall rank.
From deciding what to do with Erling Haaland ahead of the Manchester derby to identifying potential differentials from Brighton and Crystal Palace, here are our top five FPL tips for Gameweek 4.
1. Don't Sell or Bench Haaland
The Manchester derby is arguably the biggest fixture of Gameweek 4, with Manchester City travelling to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. The difficult fixture has left some FPL managers wondering whether Erling Haaland should be sold or benched.
Our advice is simple: keep Haaland and play him.
While Manchester United at Old Trafford is certainly not an ideal fixture on paper, Haaland has an excellent Premier League scoring record against United. His ability to produce attacking returns against almost any opponent means benching him purely because the fixture could easily backfire.
Even if City struggled to dominate the match, one chance in the box could be enough for the Norwegian to deliver.
Unless there is a major reason to restructure your squad, Haaland should remain in your starting XI for Gameweek 4.
2. Should You Go for a Chelsea Triple Attack?
Chelsea face Hull in Gameweek 4, making their attacking assets immediately appealing from an FPL perspective. On paper, it looks like an excellent fixture, but there is a significant element of uncertainty surrounding the matchup.
Hull are expected to adopt an ultra-defensive approach, and this will be the first time Chelsea face a side using such a system in the Premier League this season. That could make the game considerably more complicated than the fixture difficulty rating suggests.
This creates an interesting dilemma for FPL managers. Chelsea's attack could deliver heavily, but there is also a genuine possibility that Hull's defensive setup limits their opportunities.
For us, the sweet spot is a double Chelsea attack. It gives you exposure to what could be a high-scoring Chelsea performance without putting too much of your squad's attacking potential into one fixture.
However, if you're willing to take a bigger risk for potentially significant rank gains, a Chelsea triple attack is certainly worth considering.
3. Target Brighton and Palace Differentials
Differentials can ultimately make the difference between an average FPL season and a huge finish. With Brighton facing Coventry and Crystal Palace taking on Ipswich in Gameweek 4, both teams offer managers some interesting opportunities.
These are exactly the kinds of fixtures where looking beyond the obvious premium options can be rewarding.
Brighton and Palace have several players who could offer attacking or defensive value, depending on their current form, minutes and positions within their respective teams. Rather than blindly selecting a differential simply because of the fixture, managers should analyse the available options and identify which player best fits their existing squad structure.
The key is not necessarily finding the lowest-owned player available. Instead, look for a player who combines a favourable fixture with a realistic route to points and strong minutes potential.
If your squad already has the obvious FPL picks, Brighton and Palace could be excellent teams to target for Gameweek 4 differentials.
4. Bench Boost Is Worth Considering
Gameweek 4 could be an interesting opportunity to use the Bench Boost chip.
A number of fixtures this week are difficult to predict, meaning it is particularly challenging to identify exactly where the majority of the points will come from. While that creates uncertainty, it could also make spreading your potential points across the entire squad a worthwhile strategy.
The Bench Boost gives managers an opportunity to maximise returns from players who would otherwise sit on the bench. If you have a squad where all 15 players have reasonable fixtures and a strong chance of minutes, activating the chip could therefore make sense.
Of course, this does not mean every manager should automatically Bench Boost. Chip timing is important, and there may be better opportunities later in the season.
However, if your bench is already well-equipped , Gameweek 4 is worth considering for the Bench Boost.
5. Avoid Spurs Players for at Least the Next Three Gameweeks
Tottenham supporters have plenty to worry about at the moment, and FPL managers should perhaps stay away from Spurs assets for the time being.
Spurs have been among the poorer Premier League teams so far, and although their performances could improve, their upcoming schedule makes investing in their players particularly risky.
More importantly, their next three league fixtures are among their toughest on paper. That is a major concern considering Spurs have already struggled against opponents they would have been expected to beat.
With difficult fixtures combined with their current form, there is little reason for FPL managers to force Spurs assets into their squads right now.
Things could change quickly in FPL, but for the next few Gameweeks, avoiding Spurs players could be the safer strategy.
