EPL is 27 years old. In total, 50 different clubs have competed in the Premier League since 1992, the newest being Sheffield United. Here is a list of top 10 teams in the Premier League with most points won at home in this past decade.

After 29 games this season, Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the league table and are favourites to win the league this time. But if you tally up all the Premier League points won by every top-flight club at home in past 10 seasons (2009/10 season onwards), they are not among the top three.

Here is a list of top 10 teams in the Premier League with most points won at home in this past decade. Figures are correct up to the end of Matchday 29(2019/20 season).

 

10. Newcastle United – 247 points won at home

Matches: 166

Wins: 69

Goal difference: 24

Newcastle United have 247 points at home in this decade. They returned to the top flight in 2010 after a season absence and finished 5th. They were relegated in 2016 but under Rafa Benitez, they came back to the top flight in 2017 & finished 10th. Last season they finished 13th and this season they are on 13th with 35 points.

 

9. Stoke City – 262 points won at home

Matches: 171

Wins: 71

Goal Difference: +28

The only team in this list that is not in the top flight currently, Stoke City have 262 points at home since the start of the 2009/10 season. Stoke were relegated in 2017/18 season, ending their 10-year spell in the top flight. They are currently 17th in the Championship with 42 points from 37 games.

 

8. West Ham United – 266 points won at home

Matches: 185

Wins: 73

Goal Difference: +8

West Ham have 266 points since the start of 2010/11 season. They have the worst goal difference (7) among the top 10 teams with most home points in the PL. They were relegated in 2011 and came back to the Premier League in 2012. They finished 10th in 2012/13 season. This season West Ham are lying just above the relegation zone with 27 points.

 

7. Everton FC – 377 points won at home

Goal Difference: +126

Everton have 377 league points in this decade and are the last team on this list to have been in the top flight in all seasons since the start of 2009/10 season. The Toffees have finished eighth, seventh, seventh, sixth, fifth, 11th, 11th, seventh, eighth and eighth in this decade. They have made it to Europa League twice in this decade, the most recent being the 2017/18 Europa League. This season they are 12th in the league table with 37 points.

 

6. Tottenham Hotspur – 425 points won at home

Wins: 128

Goal Difference: +198

Tottenham Hotspur have 425 points at home in this decade. Since 2015/16 season, they are finishing in the top four. Before that, they have just two top-four finish since 2009/10. Currently they are 8th in the league table and with the arrival of Jose Mourinho, they’ll be looking forward to turning things around. He has a huge challenge ahead of him.

 

5. Liverpool FC – 440 points won at home

Liverpool have won 440 Premier League points at Anfield since the start of the 2009/10 season. They have been a force to reckon with since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp. Under him, the special European nights at Anfield have been restored. Anfield has become a fortress again. Since 2015/16 season, they’ve consistently finished in the top four. They came close to winning the league in 2013/14 and 2018/19 but finished second to Manchester City both the times. This season they have 25 points lead to the top and have lost just once. Last season Liverpool were the only side to finish the season unbeaten at home.

 

4. Arsenal FC – 450 points won at home

Arsenal have won 450 points at the Emirates in the past 10 seasons. They have no league titles in this decade. They constantly finished in the top four till 2015/16 season but have fallen off the pace, finishing fifth and sixth since then. Even in this list Arsenal are not in the top 4. Currently, they are 9th in the league table with 40 points. They are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League this year.

 

3. Chelsea FC – 4352 points won at home

Chelsea have won 452 Premier League points at the Stamford Bridge since 2009/10. The won the league title in 2009/10, 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons this past decade. Currently are 4th in the league table and are on course for a top-four finish in 2019/20. Under new manager and Chelsea Legend Frank Lampard, the team will hope to develop into league challengers soon.

 

2. Manchester United – 460 points won at home

Manchester United have won 460 points at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ since the start of 2009/10 season. They won the league title in 2010/11 and 2012/13, and were very close to winning it in 2009 & 2012. But since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, they have made it to top four just two times. Currently, they are 5th in the league table and will be fighting for the top 4 spots once Premier League resumes.

Manchester City have 491 points at the Etihad in the Premier League since the start of the 2009/10 season. The most successful English team this past decade, City have made their ground their fortress. In 2009/10, they were fifth in the league and since 2010, City have never finished lower than fourth in the PL, making them the most consistent team in England. Currently, they are 2nd in the league table, 25 points behind leaders Liverpool.
