5 Best Transfers of 2022 Winter Window

The January transfer window lacks the summer's massive buying splurge. Teams do not sell their great players in the middle of the season. Some teams, on the other hand, may occasionally spend money in order to secure their desired goal. Low-key transfers are common in this timeframe. Selling teams, on the other hand, are more likely to cash in on their stars if the fee is substantial. Because of the changing realities of football, teams have begun to spend more during the winter transfer window as well. Some of the most significant signings in football history have occurred in January.

1. Dusan Vlahovic – Juventus (£63m)

Dusan Vlahovic was one of the most sought-after attackers in the world at the time. Several European heavyweights were interested in the Serbian. In the January transfer window, however, he chose to join Fiorentina's league rivals Juventus for a sum of €75 million. The Serbian has signed a deal that will keep him in the No.7 shirt until 2026. Last season, Vlahovic scored 21 goals in all competitions for Fiorentina. This season, the striker has already surpassed the 20-goal mark. He is also the Italian league's equal top goalscorer.

2. Ferran Torres – FC Barcelona (£46m)

Last year, Ferran Torres was extensively linked with a move to Barcelona, and the club acted quickly to sign him to a five-year contract in January. Torres scored in every event he played in during his tenure with Manchester City — for club and country – and Barcelona will be hoping he can continue this trend. Torres has already made his Barcelona debut. In a Copa del Rey encounter versus Real Madrid, the striker scored.

3. Philippe Coutinho – Aston Villa (Loan)

Philippe Coutinho, a Barcelona midfielder, has joined Aston Villa on a six-month loan with a £33 million buyout option. Despite rival teams offering him offers that would have paid him 100% of his Barcelona salary, the 29-year-old chose to take a pay reduction to join Villa. Coutinho wants to come to England and play regular games again, and he views Villa as a forward-thinking team with big plans for the future.

4. Aubameyang – FC Barcelona (Free)

Barcelona has officially announced the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a striker who joined the club late on deadline day. The Gabonese international, 32, joins on a free transfer after leaving Premier League club Arsenal by mutual consent after four years. Aubameyang has also been registered, indicating that he will be eligible for Barcelona's next La Liga match on Sunday at the Camp Nou against Atletico Madrid.

5. Luis Diaz – Liverpool (£33m)

Luis Diaz has joined Liverpool from Porto. The striker cost the Reds €45 million in transfer fees. In the January transfer window, Diaz was said to be Jurgen Klopp's top priority. After Porto's inability to advance in the Champions League, the Colombian came. This season in the Primeira Liga, he is second in critical passes (39), third in dribbles (46), and, most importantly, second in possession won in the offensive third (18).
