Senegal beat France by 1-0 (2002)

The defending champions France from 1998 came into the 2002 World Cup with confidence but all of that was shattered against Senegal as the much less fancied team beat France by 1-0 to send Shockwaves around the footballing world. This result showed that anyone can beat anyone in the FIFA World Cup. And Senegal football has risen a lot since then.

Cameron beat Argentina by 1-0 (1990)

The same fate would happen to Argentina exactly 12 years before the France one as Argentina who had won the 1986 World Cup were to suffer one of the biggest upsets of all time.
