Can Brentford Qualify for Europe or the Champions League

Can Brentford book a place in the Champions League or qualify for European is a big question that's now being asked by their fans and football lovers in general. Brentford are currently 7th in the Premier League with 44 points. The 2 sides above them at 6th and 5th respectively are Liverpool and Chelsea with 48. That means, as things stands, the Bees are just 4 points behind those clubs in securing Europa League or Champions League qualification.

Before the season began, Brentford were considered by many to be relegation favourites, as the club lost star manager Thomas Frank and also 2 star players in the form of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa. The appointment of set-piece coach Keith Andrews was also seen as an underwhelming one, and thus many saw the possibility of Brentford dropping out of the Premier League as a serious possibility. Fast forward to the present, Andrews and his men have proved everyone wrong by defying the odds and currently standing at 7th place. They also have a new star player in the form of Igor Thiago, who is the second best goalscorer in the Premier League this season with 18 goals, just 4 behind league top scorer Erling Haaland.

Looking at Brentford's remaining Premier League fixtures

The following are the remaining fixtures for Brentford in the Premier League:

Wolves (Home)

Leeds (Away)

Everton (Home)

Fulham (Home)

Manchester United (Away)

West Ham (Home)

Manchester City (Away)

Crystal Palace (Home)

Liverpool (Away)

After looking at the remaining fixtures for Brentford, we feel that it'll take something even more special than they have done already so far this season for them to qualify for Europe. Booking a place in the Champions League simply looks impossible due to their remaining fixtures and also due to the teams above them boasting of superior squads. Out of all their remaining fixtures, none of the games look like ones that can be seen as a guaranteed victory for them.

The game against Wolves, which takes place this weekend, should've been a fixture that can be predicted as an easy win weeks back, especially with the game being at Brentford home. However, things have changed now, as Wolves have improved a lot under new manager Rob Edwards, and it wouldn't even be the biggest shock if Wolves get a point or even more in that game.

We are also predicting very few wins from Brentford in the remaining fixtures, and expect most of them to end in a draw or loss. This doesn't mean for sure that Brentford would not qualify for Europe, as they do have a slight chance of qualifying for the Europa League or conference League if certain things go in their favour. However, our realistic prediction based on the fixtures they have remaining is that we don't see Brentford's European dream coming true after the season.

Brentford Final Premier League position prediction

We believe that Brentford will finish just below or above the top 10 in the Premier League this season. Regardless of whether they achieve European qualification or not, this season is bound to end as a successful one for them considering where they were at the beginning of the season. Brentford are nothing less than an inspiration for football fans around the world, as they achieved the impossible by performing beyond expectations despite losing their star manager and best attacking players.
