A new report has given an indication on when Bukayo Saka could return for Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta would be hoping to have his star winger back at the earliest after he was withdrawn from the game against Leeds after an injury issue during the warm-up. What led to Saka's injury and how Arsenal responded to it
Bukayo Saka was named in Arsenal’s starting lineup for Saturday’s away match against Leeds but was forced to withdraw after picking up an injury during the warm-up. It didn’t affect the result, as Arsenal cruised to a comfortable 4–0 victory with goals from Martin Zubimendi, Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres and Gabriel Jesus. Still, with crucial fixtures ahead multiple competitions, Arsenal will be eager to get their key man back fit as soon as possible.
Arsenal will be facing the likes of Chelsea, Sunderland, Brentford, and rivals Tottenham this month. Hence, the club would want to have Saka back as soon as possible.
What Mikel Arteta has said about Bukayo Saka's injury
The following is what Mikel Arteta said regarding Saka after the game against Leeds:
"We don't know yet. He had a little niggle in the warm-up."
The Spaniard had now given a clearer update before Arsenal's second-leg EFL Cup fixture against Chelsea:
"We have to wait. Today he was better but we have to wait and see how he responds, and then make the decision.
"It doesn't look like something too serious. Whether he's going to be available for tomorrow or the weekend, we'll see."
Saka was previously out injured this season with a hamstring issue as well, and Arsenal will hope the recent issue would be his final one this season as the Gunners are looking to win multiple titles this season.
New Bukayo Saka injury report is good news for Arsenal and the fans
According to The Sun, Bukayo Saka is expected to be back for Arsenal for the 22 February Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur away. Thus, he's expected to miss the games against Chelsea, Sunderland, Brentford, and Wigan Athletic.
Our opinion on Bukayo Saka's Injury
The injury to Saka is undoubtedly a blow for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta. However, Arsenal currently have one of the best squads in world football, and we feel they'll be fine without him for the estimated period of over 3 weeks. Additionally, Noni Madueke, who was signed from Chelsea as a cover for Saka, has been impressive for Arsenal and this should be a great opportunity for him to prove his quality.
